These are basically my 40 favourite songs! Updated weekly. The rule is that each song has to have been in either the Official UK Top 40 or the Vodafone Big Top 40. Enjoy!
In this year's Christmas chart, there are a massive 17 Christmas songs in the top 40, and a record three in the top 10!
Camila Cabello sticks at #1 for a second week, and the highest Christmas song is Ariana Grande at #6 with Santa Tell Me. This is the highest position a Christmas song has ever hit on my chart. Wham! climb to #8 with Last Christmas, and Mariah Carey to #9 with All I Want For Christmas Is You.
The second-highest climber of the week is surprisingly a non-festive song, PRETTYMUCH and French Montana gaining eight to #12. They are followed by the highest climber of the week, Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas climbing 11 to #13. Kelly Clarkson is at #14 with Underneath The Tree, her first ever appearance with the track, and The Pogues climb 5 to #15 with Fairytale Of New York. Shakin' Stevens climbs four to #18 with Merry Christmas Everyone, and Ramz makes the top 20 with Barking.
Leona Lewis makes her first ever appearance on my chart with One More Sleep at #22, and Wizzard gains four to #23 with I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmastime goes up five to #25, and Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody gains two to #27.
The first non-Christmas debut is at #30, Jax Jones and Ina Wroldsen with Breathe. And it is followed soon after by another, Eminem and Ed Sheeran's River at #32. Sandwiched between the two is another festive debut, Brenda Lee and Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree. #33 sees Bandaid 30 re-enter with Do They Know It's Christmas?, which peaked at #32 in 2016. And at #34 the original Bandaid debut for the first time.
We have three more Christmas debuts: Elton John and Step Into Christmas at #37, Coldplay with Christmas Lights at #38 and John Lennon and Yoko Ono with Happy Xmas (War Is Over) at #39.
That's about it for this week, hope you enjoyed my Christmas top 40! Next week is Christmas week so some festive songs will stay in, but the majority will either drop out or fall. Hope you all liked my chart, and have a Merry Christmas! :D

Hey Piran, thanks for the comment! yeah it is her first Christmas #1, as this time last year her only solo entry was IKWYDLS, which only hit #7. I'm glad you liked most of my debuts! well, having 17 or whatever it was Christmas songs is something ive never been anywhere near before, so there will be quite a few dropouts next week although a handful will stay in for one more week. by the way, in my dropouts, you can tell the order of which is the highest by which is at the bottom of the dropouts basically. the first to drop out is at the top of the list, and last to drop out is at the bottom of the list! :)
did you check my re-ordering of all the Christmas songs on occ? I hope you can check that out and have a good remainder of the weekend! :D

You're welcome! Oh cool, I thought she might've had one with Fifth Harmony though, but it'll be exactly one year since she left the group in two days from now... it's gone so quick!
In my predictions for next week, I don't think I have any Christmas songs in my Top 10, so you can expect a lot of re-entries & big climbers or rebounds for me too.
On that note, I hope you can check out the Christmas chart I just uploaded!
Yeah, I'll be on Disqus a little later today hopefully! Sorry I didn't check out your Christmas songs re-ordering yesterday, but I was out last night.
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend too!

Great Christmas chart Calum! Great to see 'Never Be the Same' at #1! Since I missed a few of your charts (I'm sorry!!!) I didn't even know it entered! In your Top 10 I love seeing : 'Wolves', 'Anywhere', ' Havana' and 'Santa Tell Me'! Surprised to see many Christmas songs on your chart but it's great to see 'Santa Tell Me' and 'All I Want For Christmas' since those are my favorite ones! Now rating your new entries (that I know) : Underneath the Tree (7/10), Breathe (6-7/10), Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (6/10), River (7/10, it's in the same spot on my charts!). Now that's all I know! I posted a new chart, so hopefully you'll check it out! I hope you have a Merry Christmas (early wish) and I'll see you soon!

Hey Tom! well, NBTS only entered last week so you only missed one week of it!
yeah well ive never had as many Christmas songs in my chart before, so I was surprised too! but my Christmas song rankings on occ helped. if you'd like to check that out: https://disqus.com/home/discussion/officialcharts/official_singles_char…
I'm glad you liked most of the debuts you know, but I understand you not knowing all the festive debuts as I'm sure some of them aren't as big in Croatia!
ill have a look at your chart soon, and a Merry Christmas to you too! :D

Great to see 'Never Be The Same' stick at #1 on your Christmas chart, and for the rest of the Top 3 to stay the same as well.
I also love seeing 'Barking' as one of the few non-Christmas songs to climb in this chart. It'll probably climb in my chart next week as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the song on first listen, but it has really grown on me! I haven't heard 'No More' though, so I'll have to check that out sometime.
What is quite sad is that this is 'Know No Better's first week outside of the Top 10 since it first charted! It had a very good run though, with the 27 weeks it spent inside the region matching 'Bloodstream's run on my chart.
I like seeing 'River' debut on the chart, though you know that I would've loved for it to debut much higher, and if you've seen my most recent chart you'll know that I love some of the other songs on 'Revival' as well, though I know that only 'In Your Head' and 'Walk on Water' would be eligible for your chart (unless any others charted in the Big Top 40 this week, since I haven't heard that yet).
Great chart once again and, of course, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :D

Hey GamesKiller01! yeah, NBTS should stick at #1 for a while now, unless something amazing is released in the new year! :)
Barking will climb further in the coming weeks, and will probably hit top 10! and No More hit the Vodafone Big Top 40 two weeks ago after they performed the song on the X Factor final! PRETTYMUCH are a group of Simon's from the USA, which he brought over here to give them some recognition in the UK!
yeah, Know No Better did great, but it did of course come out in the early summer and if you compare it with CITC which came out at a similar time, its longevity has been great!
I haven't checked out your chart yet, but I will soon! and a Merry Christmas to you too! :D

Well, something amazing is released in the new year. Camila's debut album! :D
It'd be cool to see 'Barking' hit your Top 10 though, and 'Know No Better' really has done fantastic on your charts.

yeah I know, but sadly because of the three-song rule it seems unlikely any album tracks will have an effect on the chart, so unless Real Friends enters she may not have any new entries when the album comes out.
I think Barking has a very good chance of hitting top 10 in the new year! have a good Christmas and new year and speak to you soon! :)

Hey Calum, I'm really glad NBTS is #1 again for you. Santa Tell Me and AIWFCIY reaching new peaks is awesome too. From your debuts I only know River (7/10) and Breathe (7/10), the latter might debut in my chart next week too. I also like seeing No More and Barking climbing you chart as well as most of your top 10. I'm just sad for I Miss You and Perfect tumbling, but overall great chart! I'm wishing you Happy Holidays from Brazil, talk to you soon!

Hey Ines, and Merry Christmas from the UK! It's really cool that you live in Brazil, what's it like there? :)
well, all the fallers will climb again next week and the week after so don't worry! have a good Christmas and New Year and speak to you soon! :D

I love your Christmas chart Calum! :)
It's awesome to see 'Never Be The Same' earn a second week at #1! Is that Camila's first Christmas #1 on your chart?
I see you have three festive hits breaking into the Top 10 & I absolutely love every single of one them!
Now here's my rating of your debuts: 'Underneath The Tree' (8/10), 'One More Sleep' (8/10), 'Breathe' (6/10), 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' (7/10), 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' (9/10 for both versions), 'Step Into Christmas' (6/10), 'Christmas Lights' (6/10) & 'Happy Xmas {War Is Over]' (7/10).
I'm looking forward to seeing what your final chart of 2017 will look like!
Have a good day & I'll see you on here & Disqus tomorrow.
