Io's Weekly Top 50 - 11/25/2018

"Sweet but Psycho" takes the crown, Christmas songs enter the charts
Ava Max rules the charts this week, as her first chart entry "Sweet but Psycho" is up four to top the charts ahead of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Party For One" and two week chart topper "Baby" by Clean Bandit ft. Marina and the Diamonds & Luis Fonsi. "Sweet but Psycho" entered the charts at #10 three weeks ago and began to rapidly gain point, in the end narrowly overtaking former number one debut "Party For One". Last weeks number one "Baby" is down to #3 this week after losing points for the second week in a row, but still manages to fend off "Be Alright" by Australian singer songwriter Dean Lewis. "Play Destroy" drops to #5, just ahead of "1999" by Charli & Troye, which is up one again. It's a trio of Ariana Grande songs as former number ones "breathin" and "God is a woman" climb a single place each and are trailed by "thank u, next" which enters the top 10 for the first time. "Let You Love Me" stays put at #10, rounding out this weeks top 10.

Another artist with an incredibly strong last couple of weeks is Billie Eilish, who logs in her highest peak to date this week as "when the party's over" rises to #11 and "come out and play" debuts at #15. Both songs are looking like potential top ten contenders in the coming weeks. The lower half of the top 20 gets shaken up aswell, as "High Hopes" reaches a new #18 peak and Shawn Mendes & Zedd climb up five to reach #19 with "Lost In Japan". The biggest gainer this week however is "Sunflower" by Post Malone & Swae Lee, which surges up all the way from #41 to #20. Another big gainer is "Kiss and Make Up", the collaboration between Dua Lipa & BLACKPINK, which is up 14 to reach a new #24 peak. At #45 "Anywhere" by Rita Ora re-enters the charts off the back of Ora's sophomore album 'Phoenix'. The track peaked at #4 earlier this year. Two Christmas songs in "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey at #46 and "Last Christmas" by English pop duo Wham! at #49 enter the charts this week. Could they finally break into the top 20 this year as the festive season draws closer?
