Io's Weekly Top 50 - 12/02/2018

New Grimes single scores the third number one debut of the year
"We Appreciate Power" by Grimes feat. HANA enters the charts ahead of everyone else this week as it nets the biggest debut of the year, blowing even fellow number one debuts "God is a woman" and "Party For One" out of the water. The lead single from Grimes upcoming fifth studio album blocks "Sweet but Psycho" from spending a second week on top of the charts. Last weeks number one falls to #2 even with strong gains in points. Carly Rae Jepsen continues her mainstay inside the top three, as "Party For One" drops one to #3, spending all its five charting weeks inside the top three so far. "thank u, next" continues gaining in performance, rising all the way to #4 off the back of its freshly released music video. With how strong the competition on top of the charts is at the moment, it remains to be seen if Ariana can snatch her fourth #1 of the year. However, Ari does extend her own record this year though, earning herself a sixth top 5 peak. Australian Dean Lewis drops to #5 with "Be Alright", which is slightly losing in performance but seems to be steady inside the top 5 for now. Former number one "Baby" by Clean Bandit feat. Marina and the Diamonds & Luis Fonsi drops three to #6 this week, finishing just barely ahead of the ascending "Shallow" by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper, which enters the top 10 for the first time as it reaches a new #7 peak. "1999" drops points and lands at #9 this week, ahead of Billie Eilish's first top 10 entry "when the party's over". 2018's top track "God is a woman" closes out the top 10 in its 21st week.

Another former Grande #1 in "breathin" exits the top 10 this week, landing at #11 ahead of George Ezra's "Hold My Girl" which could be looking to re-enter the top 10 in the coming weeks. "come out and play" rises to #13 in its second week, finishing ahead of the debuting "Playboy Style" by Clean Bandit feat. Charli XCX & Bhad Bhabie. "Feuer", the lead single to German rapper Capital Bra's sixth studio album debuts at #22. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" soars up 17 spots from #46 to #29 as it looks to enter the top 20 for the first time as soon as next week. Similarly, "Last Christmas" by Wham! rises to #37. Another 'What Is Love?' album track in "Mama" by Clean Bandit ft. Ellie Goulding enters the charts at #43. German newcomer MERO lands at #45 with his debut single "Baller los". Zara Larsson and Tommy Cash land the last debuts this week, as "Ruin My Life" and "X-RAY" enter at #48 and #49 respectively. Taylor Swift closes out the top 50 with the current longest running song on the chart, "Delicate".
