Beyoncé scores her first Number 1 in twelve years with “Break My Soul”, claiming a rare chart record

Supported by the release of her acclaimed newest album RENAISSANCE and big streaming numbers, Beyoncé moves to Number 1 with her comeback record “Break My Soul”. The house-dance single has been met with widespread acclaim upon release, whilst reaching Top 10 on multiple official charts. On my personal list, “Break My Soul” finally moves to Number 1 after spending three weeks in the runner-up position. It marks Beyoncé her seventh Number 1-record on my list and her first in twelve years. Her last chart-topper was the 2010-collaboration “Telephone” with Lady Gaga. As “Break My Soul” soars to the top of the charts, Beyoncé claims a rare chart feat. She has now scored a Number 1-song in three consecutive decades: “Crazy in Love” in the 2000s among others, “Telephone” in the 2010s and “Break My Soul” in the 2020s.

American singer and guitarist Steve Lacy moves into the Top 10 with “Bad Habit”, which was last week its chart highest new entry. The young talent first gained prominence as the guitarist of the R&B group The Internet, after which he released his debut EP titled Steve Lacy's Demo. Success continued with his debut album Apollo XXI, and most recently, his sophomore album Gemini Rights. His new single “Bad Habit” has been a runaway hit upon release, reaching the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. On my personal chart, “Bad Habit” moves up four places to #10, marking Steve Lacy his first ever Top 10-single. He is supported by strong playlisting and fast-growing streaming numbers.

Further down, Dutch DJ Tiësto and main pop girl Charli XCX move to a new peak at #12 with “Hot In It”. The dance-pop track is taken from Tiësto his upcoming seventh studio album, which has previously spawned the monster hits “The Business” and “The Motto” with Ava Max. Meanwhile, Mabel reaches a new peak with “Let Love Go” at #15, while Sam Fender moves up to #16 with his B-track “Alright”. Burna Boy jumps to a new peak with “Last, Last” at #18, which is quickly becoming a new worldwide hit and climbing the charts worldwide. The song contains samples of American singer Toni Braxton's 2000-hit "He Wasn't Man Enough", which peaked at #2 on my personal chart.

With temperatures rising and summer at its peak, Spanish superstar Rosalía scores the highest debut of the week with her sultry mambo-hit “Despechá”. The song was first teased during the Motomami World Tour, which was highly shared across social media with some moments going viral. Upon its official release, “Despechá” received great critical reviews, with many calling it the Song of the Summer. On my personal chart, Rosalía has already scored a few big hits, including the Number 2-hit “Con Altura”. This week, “Despechá” joins Rosalía her growing hit catalogue, debuting at #21.

Meanwhile, Stromae enters at #27 with his latest single “Mon Amour”. The single is taken from Stromae his third album Multitude, but was originally a solo song. For the single release, Stromae duets with pop superstar Camila Cabello. Lizzo debuts at #34 with her new “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)”. The single is taken from her last album Special, which also spawned the Number 1-hit “About Damn Time”. Finally, Meduza returns to the chart with another dance track with the typical Meduza-sound: “Bad Memories” featuring Elley Duhé and Bad Boy.

Hi there Link!
Nice to see "Break My Soul" going to the top, as well as "Bad Habit" going to the top 10 and I love all of the debuts! All of them could make my chart at some point.
Great chart!
