Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! The Vengaboys climb to their first ever Number 1-hit

The Vengaboys climb to their first ever Number 1-hit with Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! The single is another well-deserved success for the Dutch group. The group previously scored a big hit with Up & Down. The Vengaboys are also becoming international success, charting throughout Europe and entering the Billboard 100. Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! is the Vengaboys’ highest-peaking single to date, surpassing Up & Down which peaked at Number 3. The Vengaboys dethrone Hou Me Vast by fellow-Dutchies Volumia!, whom spent three weeks above the list.

Brandy steps into the Top 10 with Have You Ever? The American singer has already had a massively successful year. She scored her first ever chart-topper with The Boy Is Mine alongside Monica. The duet became the first ever female duet to peak above the list and went on held the crown for five weeks. Brandy then scored a Top 10-hit with Top of the World, taken from her new album “Never Say Never”. The album now releases Have You Ever? as its third single, which peaks at Number 8. The soulful ballad is Brandy her fourth Top 10-hit on this list.

B*Witched re-enters the Top 10 with Rollercoaster. The single serves as the second single from the album “B*Witched”, which earlier spawned the chart-topper C’est La Vie. The girl group is currently promoting the new single To You I Belong in the United Kingdom, which will also be released soon in other European countries. B*Witched make a return to the Top 10 with Rollercoaster, stranding at Number 10 this week.

Will Smith scores the highest debut of the week. Will Smith has already had big success on this list before, scoring a chart-topper with Men In Black. The single paved the way for Will Smith his career as a musical artist and went on to spend five weeks at Number 1. Eventually, the single became the third-best-scoring single of 1997. The additional album “Big Willie Style” became a certified success as well, spawning other hits such as Getting’ Jiggy Wit It. This week, Will Smith returns with Miami. Aided by huge opening numbers, the single enters at Number 14.

Although Volumia! loses its crown position this week, Hou Me Vast receives a Platinum Certification nonetheless.
