Boyzone finally climb to their first ever Number 1-hit!

Boyzone have scored many hits on this list, but never did the Irish boy group manage to reach Number 1. That is until this week, as No Matter What graces the crown position. The Irish boy group launched their career in January 1995, scoring ten Top 10-hits over the course of the last four years. Boyzone hold the record for any act with the most singles to peak within the Top 10. The group can finally add a chart-topper to their list of achievements as well. No Matter What is rapidly becoming one of the boys’ best-scoring singles to date  and the group’s biggest international success. On this list, Boyzone dethrone the fellow-Irish B*Withed and C’est La Vie.

Ilse DeLange jumps into the Top 10 with World of Hurt. The single serves as the second release of her debut album “World of Hurt”. The album is already an impressive success in Holland and critically acclaimed. Ilse DeLange previously entered the Top 10 with I’m Not So Tough, which peaked at Number 8 and is still charting this week. Ilse DeLange scores her second Top 10-hit with World of Hurt, coincidentally peaking at Number 8 as well.

Volumia! step into the Top 10 with Hou Me Vast. Volumia! is pop group from the Netherlands consisting of nine members. The group is led by pianist and singer Xander de Buisonjé. The group became a success with their debut album “Volumia!” and subsequent singles such as Afscheid and Het Is Over. Volumia! now score their first Top 10-hit with Hou Me Vast. The song is already a big hit in the native the Netherlands. On this list, the single peaks at Number 9. The song is already their highest-peaking single to date.

Cleopatra score the highest debut of the week. The British girl group already scored a massive hit earlier this year with Cleopatra’s Theme. The single became the girls’ breakthrough on this list, peaking at Number 3 and amassing over 55,000 points. The girls had a minor success with the follow-up single Life Ain’t Easy. The group returns with I Want You Back, the third release from their debut album “Comin’ Atcha!”. The song is a cover of the original by the Jackson 5. Cleopatra their version debuts at Number 20 this week.

Acda en de Munnik receive a Platinum Certification for Niet of Nooit Geweest. The single was the group their first ever hit, paving the way for future successes. The song peaked at Number 2 behind The Boy Is Mine by Brandy and Monica. The single is one of the biggest Dutch hits of this year, alongside Liefs Uit Londen by Bløf and 't Dondert en 't Bliksemt by Guus Meeuwis & Vagant. As of this week, the single has amassed over 65,000 points.
