Chart

Dutch singer Jaap Reesema and Flemish actress-singer Pommelien Thijs remain atop the chart for a third consecutive week, while Little Mix slowly edge in on the Number 1-position

“Nu Wij Niet Meer Praten” by Dutch singer Jaap Reesema and Flemish actress-singer Pommelien Thijs enters a third consecutive week at the Number 1-position, aided by strong streaming numbers. So far, the song has fended off competition from the likes of Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande. This week, the duet its main competition comes from the acclaimed girl group Little Mix. “Sweet Melody” re-peaks at Number 2 this week, persisting to claim the crown position. If Little Mix were to overtake Number 1 next week, it would become the eleventh chart-topper for the British girl band.

Additionally, Little Mix is able to add a twenty-seventh Top 10-hit to their repertoire with “No Time For Tears”, as the single rises to the eighth position. The song is the fifth song off the new album “Confetti” to reach the Top 10. Other successes included “Break Up Song”, “Holiday” and the chart-topper “Bounce Back”. Little Mix are not alone on “No Time For Tears”, as the girls are aided by Nathan Dawe. He previously had UK chart success with “Lighter”. On this list, however, Nathan Dawe has not yet reached the Top 10, making “No Time For Tears” his first single to do so.

Italian production trio MEDUZA also reach new heights with “Paradise”, which peaks at Number 9 this week. The single has experienced rising global success, especially in the United Kingdom. “Paradise” marks the second time MEDUZA reaches the Top 10, as their previous single “Piece Of Your Heart” peaked at Number 3 in the late 2019. “Paradise” features guest vocals from Irish singer Dermot Kennedy, whom scored a Top 10-hit with “Power Over Me” which peaked at Number 10 in April 2019. “Paradise” marks Dermot Kennedy his highest-peaking release to date.

Harry Styles, one of the most successful artists of last year, earns the highest debut of the week with “Treat People With Kindness”. The new single experienced major success last week with the release of its music video starring Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge. “Treat People With Kindness” follows the previous successes of the Number 1s “Lights Up”, “Adore You” and “Watermelon Sugar”, setting a pretty high standard. Harry Styles his newest song enters the chart at Number 22.

In the Top 40, British hit-singer Ed Sheeran is on the verge of claiming fourteenth Top 10-entry with “Afterglow”, as the new single peaks at Number 12. Tabitha is also well on her way to scoring another big Dutch hit with “Blijf Nog Even Hier” featuring Paskal Jakobsen. Australian rapper The Kid LAROI makes one of the biggest jumps on the list this week with “Without You”. The song is aided by major viral success on TikTok, peaking at Number 19 this week.

Other new entries in the Top 40 include “Good Days” by SZA, which is the second-highest debut of the week. The song marks the seventh time SZA has made an appearance on the chart, following notable successes such as “Drew Barrymore”, “Love Galore” and “All the Stars”. SZA her newest effort debuts at Number 28. Canadian hit-singer Justin Bieber enters the chart with “Anyone”, earning the chart-topper his thirty-seventh entry on this list. His previous singles “Stuck with U” and “Holy” both peaked inside the Top 10. Bieber’s new single enters at Number 34. Closing the Top 40 is newcomer Shawn Codd, an English newcomer who makes his debut with “Get Out My Head”.

Hey Link! Great chart as always! I'm wondering if Little Mix can take the crown next week... Dua Lipa is doing an amazing job with three singles in the top 6. I like the new entry's especially "Anyone". I'm curious if 'the Biebs' can reach the top 10 again.

Hey Davyl, it’s going to be a close race next week with Jaap & Pommelien vs. Little Mix going head to head. Based on my streaming numbers for now, Little Mix is going to take the crown position. As for Bieber, he is going to rise next week, but Top 10 might be a stretch! Thanks for the comment :)

Hey Link! :)
It's cool seeing 'Nu Wij Niet Meer Praten' score a third consecutive week at #1, but I also like that 'Sweet Melody' is closing in on it, haha.
The debuts for 'Anyone' & 'Get Out My Head' are both awesome too!
Good chart once again.
Have a nice week!

Hey Piran, it is going to be a very close race next week with Little Mix vs. Jaap & Pommelien at equal odds. For now, “Sweet Melody” is most likely to claim Number 1. I also am really enjoying “Get Out My Head”! It looks like it is going to make a pretty big jump into at least the Top 20 next week. Thanks for the comment :)
