Olivia Dean and Sabrina Carpenter remain in locked positions

Neo-soul singer Olivia Dean is determined to keep herself atop the chart with “Man I Need”. It holds a fourth week at Number 1. Having been making waves in the underground music scene for a few years now, everything accelerated as her festival appearances garnered critical acclaim and listed her as “the one to watch”. Her debut LP helped her become BBC’s Artist of the Year and take over Glastonbury. Olivia Dean broke into the mainstream this year with her soundtrack song “It Isn’t Perfect” for Bridget Jones’s Diary and the multi-platinum duet “Rein Me In” with Sam Fender. Olivia Dean’s hold atop the list is threatened though, by none other than any man’s best friend: Sabrina Carpenter! Her “Yes, Sir I Can Boogie”-esque single “Tears” is at Number 2 again this week, but it does edge in on Olivia Dean. If Sabrina Carpenter were to overtake Olivia Dean next week, the “Espresso”-star would earn her sixth chart-topper.

American pop star Tinashe returns to the Top 10 for the first time in nine years – way too long – with her European hit “No Broke Boys”, up at #9 this week. Tinashe broke out into the mainstream in 2014 with her Billboard Hot 100-hit “2 On” with Schoolboy Q. Success continued with Snakeships’s single “All My Friends” and other collaborations. 2016’s collaboration “Slumber Party” with Britney Spears became an unexpected hit, soaring up to #2, becoming Tinashe’s best-performing song to date and Brit her last real hit on here. After that, chart success stalled, but critical acclaim continued. Tinashe broke with RCA Records and went independent. Her song “Nasty” was a viral hit and took over TikTok for a few weeks, paving the way for “No Broke Boys” similar viral endurance. “No Broke Boys” was also remixed by DJ Disco Lines which helped it become a radio hit in the UK. Tinashe is now back in the Top 10 after nine long years. Eighteen other artists needed even more time between their Top 10-hits – the longest gap is held by Shania Twain with 21 long years between “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” and “Unhealthy”.

“Where is My Husband!” – RAYE exclaims on her brand-new song. It is another jazzy outing for the British pop talent and has been endlessly teased during her many festival appearances across Europe. It is strange to think that, no shorter than three years ago, RAYE’s trademark sound wasn’t the jazz or soul-infused pop we know and love, but the EDM-synths linked to Joel Corry and David Guetta. The career of RAYE has been full of trials with loads of unfair corporate interference. With 2022’s self-written and independently released “Escapism”, RAYE turned the tides and took control of her career. It was a knock-out Number 1 and ranks as one of the biggest hits of the 2020s so far. Her debut album 21st Century Blues proved RAYE’s got many more hits up her sleeve and further spawned the Top 20-smashes “The Thrill is Gone” and “Worth It”. With the euphoric “Where is My Husband!”, RAYE is now teasing a possible follow-up, though she previously stated a second album will take some time as her lyrics were stolen after her car was broken into. It earns RAYE the highest new song of this week at #11, only barely missing out on a Top 10-slot.

Cardi B finally gave us the follow-up to her debut Invasion of Privacy this week: Am I The Drama? It has been some time since Cardi B really made an impact on the charts; her last hits being 2020’s chart-topper “WAP” or the #11-hit “Up”, both featured on the new album to boost the streams. Cardi B now returns at #23 with “Pick It Up” featuring Selena Gomez. Måneskin’s leading vocalist Damiano David makes his second solo appearance with “Talk To Me” at #34. Earlier this year, he released his debut solo album which did well in most of Europe, though it did not do much on this chart. Damiano David enlists the help of “Water”-hitmaker Tyla. She proved to be Afrobeats’ reigning queen with “Show Me Love” peaking at Number 1 this year, though she shows she can easily adapt to soft-rock pop on “Talk To Me”. That’s versatility for you. Iconic Chic- musician Nile Rodgers joins the track for his first ever Top 40-appearence. He has written, produced, and performed on records that have sold more than 750 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide.

With summer over and autumn approaching, it’s time to rank the best-scoring songs of the summer of 2025. To little surprise, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean their “Rein Me In” comes out on top. Their duet was debuted live on June 6, 2025, during Sam Fender his headlining show at London Stadium, where Olivia Dean was one of two supporting acts during the show. Following a proper release, it topped the charts for seven consecutive weeks, becoming the longest-running Number 1-hit of 2025 so far. “Rein Me In” marked Sam Fender his seventh chart-topper on this list, tying the North Shields-born singer with Justin Timberlake as the male act with the second most #1s of all time. Meanwhile, Olivia Dean earned her first Number 1-record, quickly followed by the current Number 1 “Man I Need”. In second place ranks Sabrina Carpenter’s anthemic “Manchild”. The not-so-subtle diss track’s produced by Jack Antonoff, who also produced “Please, Please, Please” and most of Taylor Swift her work. “Manchild” moved to Number 1 in its second week, marking Sabrina’s fifth Number 1-hit in barely a year. Frenna ranks third with his Dutch summer hit “ZAAZAA”. It became Frenna his best-scoring single in years and spent six consecutive weeks in second place.
