Officially solidifying herself as the breakout star of 2025 – Olivia Dean leads at Number 1 for a fifth consecutive week following the release of her sophomore album The Art of Loving. It has come at the end of a well-deserved breakthrough. Olivia Dean has been making waves in the underground music scene for a few years now, until her debut album helped her become BBC’s Artist of the Year and take over Glastonbury. Her multi-platinum duet “Rein Me In” with Sam Fender hit seven weeks at Number 1 this year, and “Nice to Each Other” lifted into the Top 10. The single “Man I Need” is set to become an even bigger success, already trumping stiff competition from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter. Olivia also adds another Top 10-smash while she’s at it – new single “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” is new at #6 and earns Dean her fourth Top 10-entry. That brings her current Top 40-entries to a total of five all at once.
“Where is My Husband!” – RAYE exclaims on her brand-new song. It is another jazzy outing for the British pop talent and has been endlessly teased during her many festival appearances across Europe. It is strange to think that, no shorter than three years ago, RAYE’s trademark sound wasn’t the jazz or soul-infused pop we know and love, but the EDM-synths linked to Joel Corry and David Guetta. The career of RAYE has been full of trials with loads of unfair corporate interference. With 2022’s self-written and independently released “Escapism”, RAYE turned the tides and took control of her career. It was a knock-out Number 1 and ranks as one of the biggest hits of the 2020s so far. Her debut album 21st Century Blues proved RAYE’s got many more hits up her sleeve and further spawned the Top 20-smashes “The Thrill is Gone” and “Worth It”. With the euphoric “Where is My Husband!”, RAYE is now teasing a possible follow-up, though she previously stated a second album will take some time as her lyrics were stolen after her car was burgled. It soars up into the Top 3 this week. It marks RAYE’s eighth Top 10-hit.
Roxy Dekker began this year with the release of her highly anticipated debut album. It came at the end of numerous Dutch hit singles that topped the streaming charts and greatly resonated with the youths. On this chart, “Satisfyer” and “Ga Dan!” became easy Top 10-hits, while “Sugar Daddy” and “Gaan We Weg?” even made it all the way up to Number 1. Though most artists would like a calming down period after a debut album release, Roxy Dekker instead went on to appear at many festivals across the Netherlands and Belgium, and now she’s even lined up her next lead single: “Go Bestfriend”. Alot like Perrie’s “If He Wanted to He Would”; on this disco-driven song Roxy Dekker supports her best friend to leave her shitty boyfriend. The music video takes inspiration from the Noughties with Roxy looking to channel her best Avril Lavigne. “Go Bestfriend” debuts at #8, earning Dekker her ninth consecutive Top 10-hit.
Further down, Tate McRae responds to her ex The Kid LAROI’s diss track with her out-there response song “Tit For Tat”. Apparently, the couple called it quits some time ago and they have been in a messy break-up since. It’s easy to anticipate who’ll be the bigger hitmaker after the break-up: The Kid hasn’t charted for some time, while Tate McRae’s been on a winning streak ever since Number 1 “Greedy”. Miley Cyrus debuts at #36 with her single “Secrets” featuring none other than Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac on the instrumentals. A collaboration with these legends does not just happen. Fleetwood Mac their hit collection predates this chart, though they did score one Top 40-hit with “Silver Springs” in the late 1990s. “Secrets” comes off Cyrus’s latest album Something Beautiful which spawned the Top 20-single “End of the World”.
