Olivia Rodrigo maintains its lead at Number 1 with “good 4 u”, while Mabel makes a Top 10-debut with her highly anticipated new song

Olivia Rodrigo enters a fifth non-consecutive week at Number 1 with “good 4 u”, maintaining its lead over Dua Lipa’s “Love Again”. The song its success is aided by big streaming numbers and playlisting. Olivia her debut album Sour is also a big success this week, being the most-streamed album of the week.  Olivia Rodrigo should watch out though, as Dua Lipa her streaming numbers remain stable and Dutch newcomer Antoon rises to Number 3 this week with “Hyperventilatie”.

Mabel debuts inside the Top 10 with her comeback single “Let Them Know”, a disco-and-dance hit that serves as the lead single of her upcoming sophomore album and is written by Mabel herself and MNEK. On this list, Mabel has scored twelve Top 10-entries, which include three Number 1s: “Finders Keepers”, “Don’t Call Me Up” and “West Ten”. All three chart-toppers were certified double-platinum or higher. Mabel’s newest “Let Them Know” debuts at Number 9, aided by strong streaming numbers, becoming the singer’s thirteenth Top 10-hit on this chart.

A bit further down, Lorde only barely loses out on a Top 10-position with her comeback single “Solar Power”, ultimately stalling at Number 11. Niall Horan and Anne-Marie eye the Top 10 with their collab “Our Song”, which reaches a new peak at Number 13 this week, while British-Greek singer Marina (no longer with the Diamonds) climbs to Number 15 with her newest single “Venus Fly Trap”. John Mayer, Aya Nakamura, Mimi Webb and Doja Cat all reach new peaks with their respective singles just outside the Top 20.

Three other songs enter the chart this week. At Number 25, Chef’Special re-enter the list with “Afraid of the Dark”, aided by newfound national success and playlisting. The song immediately reaches a new peak, as it previously peaked at Number 30. A little bit lower, at Number 34, American rock-pop group OneRepublic debuts with “Run”, marking their highest-entry since 2016’s “Kids” [#25]. Some of their previous successes include “Apologize” [#7] and the Number 1-hit “Counting Stars”. At Number 40, Tate McRae and Khalid enter with their newest collaboration “Working”. The former made her debut last year with her breakout hit “You Broke Me First” [#3]”, while Khalid has been scoring Top 40-hits since 2017’s “1-800-273-8255” [#3].

As we enter July, it is time to check in on the best-scoring singles of 2021 so far. We are currently at the halfway point with only twenty-seven weeks of the year left. The highest-scoring song of the year so far – without question – is “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo. Within the first two weeks of its release, "drivers license" broke Spotify's record for most daily streams ever for a non-holiday song, culminating in over 160 million streams and she topped the charts worldwide. On this chart, “drivers license” spent six consecutive weeks atop the list, crushing its competition with ease. “drivers license”, however, is not the highest-scoring single of the year just yet, as “Blijven Slapen” by Snelle & Maan could overtake Olivia Rodrigo’s lead very soon. The Dutch song has also spent six consecutive weeks atop the list and recently earned triple-platinum. The highest-scoring non-Number 1 of the year so far is “Good Days” by SZA, which barely missed out on the crown in February. A few months later, however, SZA bagged her first Number 1-single alongside Doja Cat on “Kiss Me More”, which is the seventh best-scoring single of the year up till now. For the Top 10 best-scoring songs of 2021 so far, check the list below this chart.
