PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson stay ahead amidst a Top 10-shift

After four weeks in second place, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson finally made it to the top with their cross-over “Stateside” last week. It is taken from a remix collection of Fancy That, smartly titled Fancy Some More?, which reworked all the original songs from PinkPantheress’s original album to feature other artists, including the likes of Kylie Minogue and JADE. The remix “Stateside” featuring Zara Larsson became an immediate hit, mainly thanks to Zara Larsson’s resurgence on both the charts and online. In a close race to the top, “Stateside” clinches the top position for a second time. The song is boosted by Alysa Liu’s gold-winning performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. “Stateside” marks PinkPantheress her second Number 1-hit, only preceded by 2022’s breakout “The Boy’s a Liar” featuring Ice Spice. For Zara Larsson, “Stateside” marks her fifth Number 1-hit.

American singer-songwriter Bella Kay hopes for her “drivers license” on “Iloveitiloveitiloveit”, which soars up to #4 on this week’s chart. Bella Kay is an independent star who has been writing music for a long time now. Thanks to TikTok, she landed on the UK Singles Top 100 with “The Sick” and booked a few festival gigs. On “Iloveitiloveitiloveit”, Bella Kay finds her voice with a bit more of a pop-rock sound. It’s an undeniable success across the globe, reaching #2 in the UK and breaking the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s also undeniably influenced by Olivia Rodrigo. She broke through in 2021 with her debut album Sour, which brought back the teen-led pop-rock sound from the Noughties and made Olivia Rodrigo a headline star. Olivia’s recognizable teenage earnestness and guitar-driven style have been inspired– to put it kindly– many other artists and paved the way for a whole new generation of young female artist. Good examples include Tate McRae on her second album, Leah Kate, Mimi Webb, and Gracie Abrams.

The 2020s have been defined by sleeper hits. Popular examples are Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”, The Marías’s “Run Your Mouth” or Goldband’s “Noodgeval”. But, in 2026, songs that already hailed massive success after its original release, are now resurging for a second run thanks to a viral moment or a radio push. Just this year, Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” reached the Top 10 again after peaking atop the chart in 2016 and Madonna’s “Get Into the Groove” is currently scaling the UK Top 40 again even though it also peaked at Number 1 in the 1980s. On here, Italian house music group Milky now has a second go at success with their one-hit “Just the Way You Are”. It peaks at #7 this week. It was only a small Top 40-hit in 2002 but is now back thanks to a remix by Australian DJ Mall Grab. The track features an Ibiza-influenced guitar sound, thanks to a sample of "Streets of Your Town" by the Go-Betweens and was basically the song of the summer in 2002. Can it become the song of the summer of 2026 as well then?

In 2025, Dutch popular music duo and couple Suzan & Freek made headlines when they announced Freek is terminally ill with lung cancer with no chance of recovery. They had to suddenly stop touring and they have asked Dutch media to leave them alone so they can be with their families. To make all even worse, Suzan also announced she was pregnant with their child. Over the course of 2025, Suzan gave birth to the duo’s first child and they scored a hit with the heartfelt “Niemand”. Freek is okay as of now, but his illness has made shockwaves across The Netherlands and its media. This week, Suzan & Freek earn the biggest debut of this week with the new “Halverwege”. It’s another autobiographical effort in which Suzan and Freek promise to carry each other through the tough times. It becomes the it -couple their eighteenth Top 40-hit to date.

Sienna Spiro broke through big time with “Die On This Hill” these past few weeks, moving the song all the way to the Top 3. This week, she lines up the follow-up “The Visitor” at #25. Meanwhile, HBO “Euphoria”-star Dominic Fike is soaring up the charts with his sleeper hit “Babydoll”. This week, the rapper-and-singer already follows up “Babydoll” with the equally fun “White Keys” at #38. Could we have a Dominic Fike-revival on our hands, just in time for Euphoria 3? Dominic Fike already enjoyed major chart success in 2019 with the Number 1-hit “3 Nights”.
