Chart

Rex Orange County his scores second Number 1-song with “Keep It Up”

Rex Orange County soars up the list, landing straight at Number 1 with his comeback hit “Keep It Up”. The singer-songwriter’s new song is his first single release since 2019 and precedes his upcoming new studio album Who Cares? The British artist is supported by over thirty combined streams and strong playlisting. Rex Orange County previously peaked atop the chart with “Face To Face” – which remains his top-seller and was certified double-platinum. “Keep It Up” fends off Dermot Kennedy’s “Better Days”, which spent one week at Number 1 after a fourteen-week long climb to the top.

Further down, there are new peaks for Stromae his “L’Enfer” [#4] and Charli XCX’s and Rina Sawayama’s electrifying “Beg For You” [#5]. Doja Cat only just misses out on her eighth Top 10-hit with “Get Into It (Yuh)”–staling at #11 behind MEAU her “Dat Heb Jij Gedaan”. Calum Scott & The Lost Frequencies jump up with “Where Are You Now” [#16], while George Ezra soars up with his new comeback hit “Anyone For You” [#24].

Adele re-enters the list at #19 with “I Drink Wine”, supported by a show-stopping performance at the 2022 Brit Awards where she won three awards, including the British Album of The Year-award. “I Drink Wine” previously debuted and peaked at #11 in November last year, when 30 was first released.

Meanwhile, Descendants-actor Dove Cameron earns the top new entry of the week at #27 with “Boyfriend”, which became a surprise Spotify-hit earlier this week. It marks Cameron her first entry on my personal list. While “The Walls Are Way Too Thin” is still steadily at #15, Holly Humberstone already lines up her second Top 40-song at #32 with “London Is Lonely”, which is also supported by an incredible performance at the BRIT awards. Coldplay & Selena Gomez join the chart with their newest single “Let Somebody Go”, which received a music video last week. Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift round out the Top 40 with “The Joker and the Queen” – a worthy sequel to their 2012-collaboration “Everything Has Changed”.
