Following a spectacular Number 1-debut – the first of 2025 to be exact – Sam Fender and Olivia Dean easily hold the crown position for a fifth week. Their duet “Rein Me In” opened at the top of my list with the highest opening numbers of 2025 so far. Sam Fender and Olivia Dean first debuted their duet live on June 6, 2025, during Sam Fender his headline show at London Stadium, where Olivia Dean was one of two supporting acts during the show. It was originally included on his third album People Watching, which spawned two Number 1-songs; the title track and “Little Bit Closer”. “Rein Me In” marks Sam Fender his seventh chart-topper on this list, tying the North Shields-born singer with Justin Timberlake as the male artist with the second most #1s of all time. Meanwhile, Olivia Dean earned her first Number 1-record. Sam Fender and Olivia Dean manage to stay ahead of Frenna’s summer-driven “Zaazaa” at #2 and Sabrina Carpenter’s country-pop bop “Manchild” at #3.
Further down, Irish dance-pop singer and producer Jazzy declares the summer season as opened with “High On Me” in collaboration with Rossi. The Dublin-born star scored a big summer hit with 2023’s “Giving Me”; reaching diamond status in her native Ireland and reaching #3 on my chart. Other songs have stuck on the UK Singles Charts as well, including last year’s platinum “Some Days”. Jazzy is a full-blown techno act as well, performing at Reading and Leeds festival and numerous Ibiza clubs this summer. Teaming up with London-based DJ Rossi, “High On Me” earns Jazzy her second Top 10-hit as “High On Me” moves up to #10 on the list this week. Rossi, a British DJ and producer who played some big festivals across Europe and owns his own record label, earns his first ever Top 10-entry.
Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne was the second member of the all-conquering girl group to give a go at it solo with her 2023 UK-garage hit “Don’t Say Love”. It was an easy Number 1-debut on here and received positive reviews. Follow-up “My Love” with Ayra Starr debuted in the Top 3 upon release and earned Leigh-Anne another gold-certified record. Though all this should have led to an album roll-out, behind the scenes the Little Mix-alumna experienced troubles with Warner Records. She has now signed with Virgin Music Group as an independent artist and debuts at #17 this week with “Been a Minute”. It’s a spiritual successor to “My Love” and prominently samples Masters at Work's 2001 song, "Work". The new song could indicate her debut album is coming soon, but Leigh’s still unclear about that. With the infectious “Been a Minute”, Leigh-Anne secures the highest new entry of the week and her fifth Top 40-hit as a solo artist.
A few places down at #19, Roxy Dekker teams up with Dutch hip hop stars Idaly and Ronnie Flex on the house-infused song “Hoe Het Is”. Roxy Dekker and Ronnie Flex previously collaborated on “Gaan We Weg?”, another house-driven pop song that went to Number 1 last year and earned Roxy Dekker’s second Number 1-hit. Idaly leads the track – we best recognize him from 2015’s “Hoog / Laag” taken from New Wave or 2018’s platinum hit “Wine Slow”. Further down, WizTheMc and Bees & Honey team up again on “Take My Mind” at #38. Only a few weeks ago, their Afrobeats collaboration “Show Me Love” went all the way to Number 1 following a remix featuring South-African singer Tyla.
