Scottish darling Lewis Capaldi scores his first ever Number 1 with “Forget Me”

Scotland their national treasure Lewis Capaldi finally moves up to Number 1 for the very first time with his comeback record “Forget Me”. It’s the lead single of his upcoming sophomore studio album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, which was announced earlier this week. He joins an elite list of Scottish Number 1-acts, including the likes of Calvin Harris, Emeli Sandé and LF System. Capaldi previously scored major with his breakout ballad “Someone You Loved”, which flew up the charts worldwide yet peaked at #5 on my personal list. Lewis Capaldi’s “Forget Me” dethrones Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal their “B.O.T.A.”, which spent one week atop the list.

Further down, Antoon moves into the Top 10 with his latest song “Klop, Klop”, which was last week’s highest debut. This week, the expectedly catchy song climbs to #8, earning the Dutch singer-and-rapper his seventh Top 10-hit on my personal list. Antoon has been a chart mainstay ever since his breakout hit “Hyperventilatie” shot to Number 1 for seven weeks last year. He then scored two back-to-back Number 1s with “Vluchtstrook” and “Hallo”. His newest song “Klop, Klop” is very reminiscent of Antoon his previous hits, since it is again written and produced by Antoon his manager and longtime collaborator Big2. The new single is supported by strong playlisting and steadily increasing streaming figures.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé falls just short of reaching the Top 10 with her viral hit “Cuff It”, peaking at #11 instead this week. The disco-funk song has been a fan favourite upon the release of Renaissance and has recently been climbing the worldwide charts. Maan follows suit with her new “Sowieso Overhoop” at #12; the song is taken from the singer’s latest album Leven which was released this week. Steve Lacy peaks at #15 with his sleeper single “Dark Red”, while BRITs-nominated Holly Humberstone scales the Top 20 with the soft “Scarlett”. Anne-Marie & Aitch join the Top 20 with “Psycho” at #19, while Tiësto & Charli XCX round out the Top 20 as “Hot In It” rebounds.

Australian singer Dean Lewis makes a surprise comeback with his new heartfelt single “How Do I Say Goodbye”, scoring the top debut of the week at #25. The ballad is an ode to his father who was diagnosed with cancer. The new single “How Do I Say Goodbye” is taken from the singer his upcoming sophomore studio album and is slowly becoming a streaming hit. Dean Lewis has previously had success in 2018 with “Be Alright”, which topped the international charts and peaked at #10 on my personal chart. It was a major hit in his native Australia, where it spent five weeks at Number 1 and went eight times platinum.

Italian hitmakers Måneskin debut at #32 with “The Loneliest”, their anticipated follow-up to their small hit “Supermodel” earlier this year. The song has been well received on European radio stations and has debuted atop the Italian official charts. On my list, “The Loneliest” marks Måneskin their fifth Top 40-hit. Further down, American singer and producer Oliver Tree and German producer Robin Schulz enter at #37 with their high energy collab “Miss You”. It marks Oliver Tree his first ever Top 40-debut and Schulz his first entry since 2017’s “Shed a Light” [#38] with David Guetta.
