Spice Girls set for a second week at Number 1

The Spice Girls celebrate a second week at Number 1 with their eighth chart-topper Stop. The single follows previous successes such as Wannabe and Say You’ll Be There. The newest single is the third release of the girls’ sophomore album “Spiceworld”, which also produced the chart-topping singles Spice Up Your Life and Too Much. Aside from another week above the list, Stop also earns a Gold Certification. The single has amassed over 40,000 points. This is the eighth consecutive single by the Spice Girls to achieve that incredible feat.

Natalie Imbruglia jumps into the Top 10 with Big Mistake. This is the Australian songstress her second Top 10-entry following the chart-topper Torn. Her debut single was a highly successful hit, spending two weeks at Number 1 and amassing over 78,000 points. Her additional album “Left of the Middle” is also a big success across the globe. Her newest single certainly appears to live up to the success of its predecessor. Big Mistake peaks at Number 6 this week.

The Vengaboys enter the Top 10 with Up & Down. The Vengaboys is an up-and-coming music act from the Netherlands, following big international successes such as 2 Unlimited. The group combines cheeky bubblegum-pop with the popular Eurodance-sound. Their previous single 2 Brazil was a moderate international success, entering multiple charts throughout Europe. A big success is coming with Up & Down, which already reached the Top 10 in the Netherlands. On this list, the Vengaboys prove to be a success as well, peaking at Number 9 this week.

Since 1993, Shania Twain has been making music. She started her career at an early age, has released three albums and spawned multiple hit singles. Yet, she only has had big success in the United States. But her newest album “Come On Over” proves to be a European hit as well. The album’s single You’re Still the One is skyrocketing sales and reaching the Top 10 in multiple countries, including the United Kingdom. As she is establishing as an international artist, You’re Still the One is becoming a rightful success. On this list, the single peaks at Number 10 this week.

Wyclef Jean scores the highest debut of the week. Wyclef Jean is a Haitian rapper who was a member of the highly successful group the Fugees before he went solo. As a member of the Fugees alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel, Wyclef Jean had incredible success; the group scored a Number 1-hit with Killing Me Softly and two other Top 10-hits. As a soloist, Wyclef Jean has proven to be successful as well; the rapper landed the Top 10 twice, most recently with No, No, No (Part 1) alongside girl group Destiny’s Child. Wyclef Jean returns with Gone Till November, debuting at Number 21 this week.

Madonna receives a Gold Certification for her recent hit Frozen. The single peaked at Number 2 behind Céline Dion with My Heart Will Go On. After the single made a spectacular entrance at Number 8, Madonna her hit currently scores a ninth week within the Top 10. The single is her highest-peaking entry to date, surpassing other singles such as Don't Cry for Me Argentina. As of this week, the single has amassed over 40,000 points.

The Backstreet Boys receive a Gold Certification for their hit single All I Have To Give. The song peaked at Number 2 behind My Heart Will Go On by Céline Dion. The single is the boys’ seventh single to achieve a Gold Status, following other hits such as I’ll Never Break Your Heart and As Long as You Love Me. As of this week, the single has amassed over 40,000 points.
