Miley Cyrus makes five weeks at Number 1 with her international hit single “Flowers”. Over the past few weeks, it has become Cyrus her best-performing single to date, topping every major chart. It also earned a big record-breaking 100 million streams on Spotify in its opening week. “Flowers” is the lead single to Miley Cyrus her upcoming eighth studio album, set to be released in March. Although the song has enjoyed a very steady chart run so far, this week “Flowers” its reign is challenged by SZA’s “Kill Bill”, which reaches a new peak at #2 this week. The cut-throat break-up anthem has been the standout single from SZA her second album SOS, which was released to critical praise and major chart success last year. If SZA would overtake Number 1 next week, “Kill Bill” would become her first ever solo chart-topper.
Within the Top 10, “Slapeloosheid” by Suzan & Freek reaches a new peak at #6. Its streams are steadily increasing. RAYE also reaches a new chart high with “The Thrill is Gone”, peaking at #8 this week. Its boosted by the recent release of RAYE’s debut album My 21st Century Blues, which has been met with critical acclaim and become a chart success. Further down inside the Top 20, Metro Boomin’ his newest single “Creeping” peaks at #11, almost breaking the Top 10, while Italian Eurovision winners Måneskin soar to new chart heights with “Supermodel” at #12. Taylor Swift her “Lavender Haze” also continues a steady climb, as Midnights its latest single peaks at #13. Dutch-Molokan singer Zoë Tauran breaks the Top 20 with “Therapie”, her first ever Top 20-peak as a soloist.
Meanwhile, British newcomer PinkPantheress scores the highest debut of the week with “Boy’s a Liar”, entering the list at #25. The London-based rapper and singer has only started releasing music a year ago, but her songs have quickly gone viral on TikTok and other social media. PinkPantheress has also been named the BBC's Sound of...winner of 2022, which its previous winners include Adele, Ellie Goulding, HAIM and Sigrid. This week, PinkPantheress makes her official debut in my Top 40 with “Boy’s a Liar, Part 2”, on which she is supported by Ice Spice. The Bronx-based rapper has become a viral sensation overnight, while she also made her chart debut recently on the Billboard Hot 100 with “In Ha Mood”. Together, PinkPantheress and Ice Spice could be looking at their big breakout hit soon.
Further down, Rema re-enters the list with “Calm Down”, supported by its remix with Selena Gomez. The single previously peaked at #15 and finished as one of last year’s biggest singles. Lizzo and SZA debut at #37 with “Special”. Both singers have recently enjoyed major chart success. SZA her newest album has spawned several hit singles, while Lizzo scored her first Number 1-hit on my personal chart with “About Damn Time”, which, more importantly, also won Record of the Year at the Grammys.
Last Sunday, February 12th, Rihanna made her return to the stage at the NFL Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. Within 13 minutes, Rihanna performed a medley of hits, from “B*tch Better Have My Money” to “Diamonds”. That was not enough time though, as the Barbadian talent has many more bangers, and iconic collaborations with the likes of Drake, Eminem and Paul McCartney. To celebrate Rihanna her extensive discography and her return to the big stage, I have decided to list my personal fifteen highest-scoring Rihanna hits to date. Her biggest song to date is “We Found Love”, the 2011-collaboraiton with Calvin Harris. It spent eight non-consecutive weeks atop the list and ultimately went quadruple platinum. Some of her other biggest hits include “Umbrella”, “Diamonds” and “What’s My Name?”. Check the full list below this chart.
