Take That celebrates a sixth week at Number 1 with Back for Good. The British boy group now overtakes Céline Dion her records for ‘Artist with the Most Weeks at Number 1’ and ‘Single with the Most Weeks at Number 1’. She spent five weeks at the top with Think Twice.
The biggest competition for Take That comes from The Spin Doctors’ Two Princes at Number 2. R&B-group Brownstone also comes very closely with If You Love Me at Number 4.
Italian Eurodance-group Corona enters the Top 10 with Baby Baby. This is their first single to hit the Top 10 and their highest-peaking single to date at Number 9. Their previous hit, Rhythm of the Night, was certified Gold.
Livin’ Joy, another Italian Eurodance-group, enters the Top 10 as well with Dreamer. The song is also the biggest gainer of the week, gaining nine places. The hit enters the Top 10 at Number 10 exactly.
The biggest dropper of the week is Don’t Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) by The Outhere Brothers. The single peaked at Number 5 earlier this month. The song loses seven places this week.
The highest debut of the week is The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind) by The Bucketheads. The Bucketheads, featuring producer Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, is a groups of DJs based in New York. Their entry is their first single to enter the charts, making this their debut single. The DJs open at Number 17.
Take That earns a Platinum Certification for their chart-topper Back for Good. The song currently sits at Number 1. Ini Kamoze also earns a Platinum Certification for Here Comes the Hotstepper. His single peaked at Number 2 and has been charting for twenty weeks.
