Welcome along back to Effervescence!
Noteworthy cultural notes for this week:
- The Eurovision Song Contest field is complete! Everything is released, who are your favorites?
- It's my angel face's birthday this weekend. There may be a smattering of her favorites infiltrating Effervescence this week!
- We learned the sad news this week that Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel sadly passed away on March 17th at the age of 74.

Ahoy, Piran!
You got some fun ahead of you for sure. I have consumed more Eurovision songs and hopefuls than ever this season. I've watched several of the National Finals so I picked up even more of the poignant and brilliant, as well as wonderful and wacky entries that didn't make it but so easily could have. There is so much to delve into so I understand the daunting task it would be to do the same. I will say I have enjoyed the fact that the Eurovision season can take us from Christmas all the way through mid-May. It quickly gets you out of the holiday mood and something to look forward to before Summer which is practically immediately following the Grand Final.
Shiver will be sticking around for a bit and look out for more random throwback entries next week as we close in on April Fool's Day! You know I'm a bit of a sucker to get cheesy around any sniff of a holiday/cultural event.
Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate it!

Ahoy, Maxon!
Now I started to understand what's your favourite direction of music. I don't know what to say, but I don't think that it depends on the place where you was born. It's just your state of mind, but some kind of music that you prefer is really amazing to me.
So, glad to see a songs from the past again. This is: #4 "Faded"; #16 "Wicked Games" (I will not say anything about the original Chris Isaak's version); #18 "Cry for You" (OMG, where you found this another Swedish pop); #20 "Sweet Child O' Mine" (Yeah, this is really the greatest hit for a lifetime); #23 "All the Small Things" (It's unbelievable, but this song played in my mind, and now this appeared in your chart… How this coincidence may be possible??? This is a crazy mysticism!); #39 "Love Shack".
Also, support to existing tracks: #1 "We Will Rave"; #2 "When I'm Gone"; #5 "Never Be Alone"; #10 "Lonely Dancers"; #12 "Never Be Lonely"; #14 "Rim Tim Tagi Dim"; #15 "Beat of Your Heart"; #17 "Love Hurt Repeat"; #19 "Waking Up"; #24 "Make You Mine"; #27 "Birds in the Sky"; #29 "Unforgettable"; #30 "We Can't Be Friends"; #31 "Dizzy"; #38 "Lovers in a Past Life"; #39 "Europapa" (I guess, this is your first song in Dutch).
My vote for… You will never guess… Joking. For Nate Smith! 😁
Thanks for your chart and have a good mood! 😉

Ahoy, Alex,
Yeah, I'm pretty 'two-note' in my music taste - Dance music and rock music, though, especially today the is so much crossover that even 'pop music' is apparently a lot of what I listen to according to my Spotify. I definitely think that state of mind can make a huge difference in the music you listen to, the movies you watch, the people you hang out with, and even the person you are. Culture and, regularly, religion makes a difference too but I believe we are all what we are and ultimately need and deserve to explore whatever in the world we want to. I'm probably never going to not have surprises. I have been a music (and movies) nerd my entire life so there's always plenty more where that came from.
I'm pleased you enjoyed seeing the random throwbacks. They're all big favorites from my other half so a pleasure to throw in here and of course listen to, amongst plenty of others all week. It is very ironic that she absolutely loves 'Zombie', which happened to of been in last weeks chart already anyway as a throwback for St. Patrick's Day. A rare throwback that managed a second week.
You actually mentioned more than half of the tracks in my chart this week so I am very happy you're getting a measure of interest from it. Long may it continue!
Thank you for stopping by and leaving the comment.
I hope you're having a great weekend!

Hi there Maxon!
Nice to see "Simple Life" gain huge (really love this!), as well as the returns for "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Love Shack" and the debuts for "Faded", "Cry For You", "All The Small Things", "Loyal To Myself" (happy to see this here!) and "Europapa" (I had to break a rule for my not "Eurovision listening until April/May" and check it out, it is a fun song, could also may be the first song in Dutch to make my chart soon).
Great chart!
Take care.

Ahoy, Sergej!
Your #1 continues to gain momentum here. I'm really enjoying it and have since the first listen though I cannot necessarily explain why. Similar things for 'Loyal To Myself'. A Song which is growing on me each time it pops up. Glad you're enjoying the throwback returns.
We're nearly in April now, so get yourself on the Eurovision bandwagon, rules are made to break! Europapa is the perfect blend of euro-nutty and immense fun yet surprisingly serious and even mundane if you dig a little deeper into Joost and the lyrics. I also hear a little Scatman John and 2Unlimited in there too. As you can tell, 'We Will Rave' is still my pick of the lot, I doubt it's gonna win but it's gonna be a party for sure this May! Let's Rave!!
Thank you so much for stopping by and your comment.

Hey Maxon! :)
I've not heard many of this year's Eurovision entries yet, but I really like seeing 'Europapa' here as it'll likely be entering my upcoming chart.
I also like the throwback entries such as 'Faded', 'Wicked Games' & 'Sweet Child O' Mine', along with 'Shiver' making its debut!
Good chart yet again.
Take care!
