The New Elusive Charts: Week 13

  • MARINA earns her very first chart topper, as "Orange Trees" rises 2 spots and becomes the 9th number one to not debut at the top and second song (excluding the pre-revamp charts) to take longer than one week to rise to the top, beaten only by Lizzo's "Juice". It also becomes the third pre-release album single to reach #1 (joining "7 rings", "Now That I Found You" and "Jucie") and fourth 2nd single to outpeak the lead (followed by "7 rings" > "thank u, next" and "Now That I Found You" > "Party for One").
  • Although it remains blocked from the top for a second week, "Con Altura" holds on strong and becomes Rosalia's longest song to chart inside the top 3.
  • Slayyyter finally thrives and reaches the top 3 with her song, "Mine", after a 7 week struggle, and it becomes the singer's first top 3. Christine & The Queens' third entry on the chart is also their third top 10 and second top 5 song as "Girlfriend" debuts at #4 and Kevin Abstract makes his debut on the chart with two songs, "Joy Ride" - #5 and "Georgia" - #12.
  • Ariana Grande's "break up..." and Vampire Weekend's "Harmony Hall" remain stable inside the top 10, with no significant changes in their performance. Meanwhile, Billie Eilish's "bad guy" drops 6 spots from the top, but does not aim towards a more tragic downfall.
  • Tame Impala is the second artist to debut a song in the top 10 this week, as "Borderline" opens at #9, officially joining the battle for the #1 next week, alongside the top 3, "break up..." and "Joy Ride". BTS makes a glorious return to the chart with their new Halsey collaboration, "Boy With Luv", a #10 debut. It becomes BTS' and Halsey's second highest entry; first entry for BTS ever since "DNA" peaked at #2 and Halsey's highest peaking song since "Bad At Love" reached #3.
  • When it comes to gainers, Zedd and Katy Perry rise slowly to #11 this week with "365". Ariana's "bloodline" finds its way back in the top 20, while Dorian Electra's "Man to Man" and John Mayer's "I Guess I Just Feel Like" enter the top 25, aiming for another great week.
  • Besides the aforementioned new entries, other tracks have debuted this week: Ellie Goulding's "Sixteen" (#13), her highest entry yet; Mark Ronson's Lykke Li collaboration, "Late Night Feelings" (#14), a strong contender for the top 10; Anderson .Paak's "Make It Better", which, despite its weak debut, has strong chances of going top 5 due to the album release. Last but not least, despite "Monopoly" vanishing from the chart after one week, Ariana Grande replaces it with "needy", which returns to the chart this week at a timid #29.
