Chart

Rockmaker Top 40 Singles

This is the last chart of 2019 and the decade of 2010. Welcome 2020!

For the first time in its history in the Rock Era the Top 5 includes 3 Christmas songs. Mariah Carey's famous Christmas song "All I Want For Christmas" finally celebrates her stay in the top spot. It's the thirteenth No. 1 in Mariah's career and this week marks its 24th week in total atop. Ladbaby, a.k.a. YouTuber Mark Hoyle with his wife and two sons, remains for the 2nd week at No. 2. His Joan Jett spoof "I Love Sausage Rolls" debuted last week in that position. Jonas Brothers' "Like It's Christmas" jumps from No. 11 to No. 4. Because of the Christmas holidays, most dance songs suffer a considerable drop in the chart. However, it is expected that with the celebrations for the New Year's Eve, these songs will pick up again.

Former One Direction Niall Horan achieves his first Top Ten this week with the ballad "Put A Little Love On Me" that jumps from No. 24 to No. 8. His previous hits were: "This Town", No. 21 (2016 ), "Slow Hands", No. 24 (2017), "Too Much to Ask", No. 16 (2017), and "Nice To Meet Ya", No. 22 (2019).

For the first time three songs that marked history at the time for the largest number of weeks coincide this week in the Top 100: Bing Crosby's "White Christmas", 15 weeks in No. 1 (1942-1953) in No. 24, Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road (Featuring Billy Ray Cyrus)", 20 weeks at No. 1 (2019) and Roxette's "It Must Have Been Love (From" Pretty Woman"), one of the first to get 10 weeks in the top (1990). The re-entry of the most famous song by Roxette is due to the tribute in memory of the recent death of his vocalist Marie Fredriksson (1958-2019).

Congratulations to Harry Styles on your No. 1 debut album "Fine Line"!

Hello Rockmaker!
Nice to see "Put A Little Love On Me" rise to the top 10!
I also like big gains for "Remember You Young" and "What If I Never Get Over You" and the debuts for "Wandering Star", "Wonderful Dream" and "Watermelon Sugar"!
Under the top 40 I like the debuts for "Saturday" and "Falling", the re-entries for the Christmas songs and most importantly the return for "It Must Have Been Love"!
Really enjoyed the chart as always and I also checked out your Year-End chart of 2019 and left a comment there as well!
Hope you can check out my chart too on Crownnote and on Spotify, if you have the time. Would love to know what you think about my christmas chart!
Have a great week and of course:
Merry Christmas to you!

Thank you Sergej for your comments always right. Indeed, "Put A Little Love On Me", "Remember You Young" and "What If I Never Get Over You" are great songs and have gained positions despite the onslaught of Christmas songs. Harry Styles and Niall Horan have published very good songs to take into account in this 2020. Some danceable songs have lost some positions due to the festivities but I think they will recover from the New Year's Party. I wish you a Merry Christmas for you and your loved ones. We read in 2020!
