Sergej's Personal Chart 02.05.2024

Since I lost my job, I am concentrating fully on my life, that means music and these charts are now less important for me, I will still do them, but they will be all over the place in the next months ahead. So if anyone comments on why some songs are gaining big or dropping very low, I have/haven't listen to most songs during the weeks ahead and also my personal life/searching for a new job is more important now. + If you see my charts being all over the place, it is because I'm currently more concentrated on job search than music (especially now with me having job interviews left and right), don't worry I still hope to find a music to calculate my charts with the help of music. Although I can't make any promises, because the charts are becoming massive messes, thanks to my concentration on job interviews and getting a new job. (UPDATE: I now have a job, so expect the weeks after next week to be a bit relaxed)

Highlights:
- Hozier earns a second consecutive week at #1 on Sergej's Personal Chart with "Too Sweet".
- The highest debut this week comes from AYLIVA & Apache 207 with "Wunder", it debuts to #2 and becomes both artists' biggest hit so far.
- Fabiana Palladino keeps on rising with "Stay With Me Through The Night", from #6 to #5 to last week at #4 and now this week #3.

- Teddy Swims rebounds with "The Door" now officially being a single with video and all, rebounds to #6, still having some momentum.
- Two huge summer hits in the making for the coming weeks are keeping on climbing with Dasha's "Austin" rising to #7 and Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" entering the top 10, jumping to #8.
- Finally, rounding out of the top 10, bnkr44 & Pino D'Angio reaching the top 10 with "MA CHE IDEA" at #10.
- Other debuts this week (outside of AYLIVA & Apache 207) come from Jess Glynne, Coma_Cose, Topic & A7S, Noemi, Mabel, Teddy Swims, Mr. Belt & Wezol and Rose Villain & Guè.
- Next week, Radical Optimism is coming... Be warned!

Hi Sergej,

It is nice that Taylor's "Fortnight" remains within the top 5. Very impressed with the huge rise for Chappell Roan! Such a vocal masterclass of a song! Hope to see it rise higher, also nice to see "Espresso" and "run for the hills" rise!

Great chart!

Hey Sergej! :)

Congratulations on the new job! Wishing you the very best of luck with it.

As for your chart, I like seeing 'Espresso' in the Top 10, the massive gain for 'Good Luck, Babe!', as well as the debut for 'Easy'!

Good chart yet again.

Take care!

Hey Piran!

Glad that you like "Espresso", the big gain for "Good Luck, Babe!" and the debut for "Easy".

Thank you for your comment and take care.
And thank you for the well wishes on my new job.

Hey Sergej! :D

Deserved second week on top for "Too Sweet". Surprising debut at #2 for "Wunder", I would guess it will become a big summer hit in Germany and all over Europe. "Stay With Me Through The Night" is a very decent song and it's understandable that it's slowly reaching the top spots, will it continue to advance to the top? (The slow progress of this Fabiana Palladino song on SPC reminds me when in 1995 on Rockmaker, the Blues Traveler song "Run-Around" made a 10-9-8-7-6-6-5-4-3-2 move and stayed at #2 and then started to move down) xD

It's nice to see "Austin" at #7 and "Espresso" already in the Top Ten. Same with the cover of "Ma Che Idea" at #10. On the other hand, The Last Dinner Party is about to achieve its second Top Ten on SPC with "Sinner" and "Realize" is rising like crazy (I suggest checking its position on Spotify). I'm pleased to see "Electric" already in the Top 20 and "Good Luck, Babe!" about to make it. I like the new peaks of "My Oh My," "Higher Ground," "Piano," "Mistake," "For Life" and "A Bar Song (Tipsy)."

Hopefully songs like "I Don't Wanna Wait", "Leave A Light On", "Von dutch", "Lighter", "I Like The Way You Kiss Me" and "Forget About Us" will find their way back to the top. Especially "Training Season" which I hope can have an upturn thanks to the release of Dua's new album.

Good to know that you already published on Spotify the list of Number One's from 1980 to the present, it's hard work but very special because it allows us to see how music is changing year by year and from SPC's valuable point of view.

Thank U very much 4 the always refreshing music! I wish U a happy new week and a hug from afar :D

Hey there Rockmaker! :D

"Too Sweet" definitely earned its second week at the top! "Wunder" making a splash at #2 is quite the surprise indeed, and I agree, it feels like a summer hit in the making for Germany and beyond. "Stay With Me Through The Night" is steadily climbing, it's interesting that it is reminiscent of the slow rise of "Run-Around" in '95 on your chart – let's see if it follows a similar trajectory and maybe even overgain it!

Exciting to see "Austin" holding strong at #7 and "Espresso" perking up in the Top Ten. The cover of "Ma Che Idea" landing at #10 is a nice touch too. And The Last Dinner Party's "Sinner" gearing up for its second Top Ten on SPC, alongside "Realize" gaining momentum, it has gotten lots of plays with Dutch radios.

"Electric" sparking its way into the Top 20 and "Good Luck, Babe!" gearing up for it is also awesome news. Also, props to the new peaks for "My Oh My," "Higher Ground," "Piano," "Mistake," "For Life," and "A Bar Song (Tipsy)", they might climb more.

Fingers crossed for "I Don't Wanna Wait", "Leave A Light On", "Von dutch", "Lighter", "I Like The Way You Kiss Me", and "Forget About Us" to make their way back up someday, "Training Season" will definitely climb because Dua's new album is giving it the boost it needs!

Glad you're enjoying the Spotify list of Number Ones from 1980 onwards – it's definitely a labor of love, but it's incredible to see how music evolves over the years from my chart's perspective.

Thank you for the constant musical refreshment! Wishing you a fantastic new week and sending a big hug your way from afar! :D

Ahoy, Sergej!

Big congratulations on the big win professionally. I know how frustrating it is to look for the right position and the struggle in acknowledging what you're worth during the unemployment having recently also been through the same situation. Wishing you all the best for the new position may it give you much joy and success in that order.

Meanwhile chartside, lovely big new entry for 'Wunder'. Also enjoying 'Easy', 'Out My Head', 'Hammer To The Heart', and 'It's Not Right But It's Okay' rising up (like a tower)

I love the gains for 'The Door' which could likely get some mainstream (at least my circle which is mainstream to me). I'm just waiting for 'Lose Control' to get out and give it some time to itself as for me it's a much better track'. also good to see 'Dasha', 'Espresso', 'Sinner', 'Electric', 'Good Luck, Babe', 'My Oh My', 'Higher Ground', 'Mistake', 'For Life', 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim', 'A Bar Song', and 'Puntiera'.

I look forward to your chart getting to a place you're happy with. I can only speak for myself but I'd be pretty sure no one was in anyway feeling what you were about it not being 'right'.

Have a great Eurovision week!
