Sergej's Personal Chart 09.05.2024

Highlights:
- Dua Lipa has yet another takeover on Sergej's Personal Charts thanks to all her songs from "Radical Optimism" charting, including the #1 song "Illusion" rising back to the top spot, as well as getting another top 10 song with "These Walls" debuting at #8, as the highest debut this week.
- Hozier falls back to #2 with "Too Sweet", after spending two weeks at the top.
- Fabiana Palladino stay on hold at #3 with "Stay With Me Through The Night".
- Sabrina Carpenter jumps up four spots to #4 with "Espresso", her first top 10 hit on Sergej's Personal Charts.

- Dasha's "Austin" also climbs up to the top 5 for the first time with "Austin", up two spots to #5.
- Purple Disco Machine gets his eighth top 10 hit as he collaborates with Benjamin Ingrosso (his third top 10 hit), Nile Rodgers (his fourth top 10 hit as himself) and Shenseea (her first top 10 hit) debuting at #9 with "Honey Boy".
- Finally, rounding out of the top 10, it's the winners of last year's Song of the Summer and Song of the Year, the italian group The Kolors with "KARMA" at #10.
- Other debuts this week (outside of Dua Lipa's songs, Purple Disco Machine & Gang and The Kolors) come from Francesco Gabbani, Peter Fox & reezy, Becky Hill, Jaxomy/Agatino Romero/Raffaella Carrà and Kendrick Lamar (the first time a diss track appears on my chart ever).

Ahoy, Sergej!

Loving the Radical Optimism domination this week. Expected or not, great to see. Watch out for a second week of release presence in Effervescence.

I'm rooting for the summer anthem 'Espresso' to continue the climb. We're literally at the precipice of Summer 2024 and what better way to begin?

I love 'Austin', 'These Walls', 'Honey Boy', and 'Karma' all being in the Top 10, and 'Electric' knocking on the door too.

Still just the five Eurovision songs in your 100. I hope that can quadruple at least next week. Is there any chance of some ESC classics too?

Loving the chart as always.

Have an incredible Eurovision Watch Party tomorrow!

Ahoy there!

Sorry that I'm writing to you now, but I was very busy enjoying the weekend with my grandparents from Kazakhstan who are visiting us since last week.

I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying the Radical Optimism domination! It's always exciting when unexpected hits make their mark. And I hope that in your charts it will have another thrilling week.

I'm with you on hoping 'Espresso' becomes the anthem of the summer. What better way to kick off the season? Even though Eurovision will slow it down for a bit, it will bounce back coming Summer. And potentially have chances for a #1 spot.

Seeing 'Austin', 'These Walls', 'Honey Boy', and 'Karma' ruling the Top 10 is fantastic, and 'Electric' inching closer sounds like it's poised for a breakthrough.

As for Eurovision, you'll be seeing a lot of them in my next chart, thankfully "that country" didn't win, but Switzerland did! Even though I wanted Croatia to win, I'm still happy that Switzerland won.

Thanks for the kind words about the chart. Hope you've had an amazing time watching the finals yesterday.

Take care!

Hey Sergej! :)

Glad to see the Dua Lipa album bomb, as well as debuts for 'Honey Boy', 'Right Here', 'Pedro' & 'Euphoria'.

Good chart!

Hi Sergej,

Nice to see Dua return to the top with "Illusion" and also the album tracks entering the chart and the jump for "Good Luck, Babe!" by Chappell Roan.

Great chart

Hi Sergej ;D

Sorry to send you my comment a little late, but it's never too late to talk about the good music on your chart/playlist.

I love that "Illusion" is back at #1 in response to the release of "Radical Optimism", as is the highest debut of the week with "These Walls" which is a decent song. Impressive debut for Dua's other songs in the Top 100, no wonder the album debuted at #1 in the UK and #2 in the US.

Will Fabiana Palladino have to battle with Sabrina Carpenter and Dasha for a possible #1 or will Eurovision songs sweep the top spots next week?

It's great to see "Honey Boy" debuting in the Top Ten, as well as The Kolors' new, "Karma" sounds very nice. Among other debuts, besides Dua's songs, I like "Toast", "Right Here" and the re-entry of "Pedro Pedro Pedro Pedro Pedro Pedro Pe" (I could have sworn I had already seen it a few weeks ago on your chart). "Euphoria" doesn't cause me as much euphoria as "Not Like Us" does.

I hope Eurovision doesn't ruin the chances of "Electric", "Training Season", "Good Luck, Babe!" and "Maria" to reach the coveted Top Ten.

I like the new peak reached by "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and by "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" (which is the only one -along with Olly Alexander's- and the song that represented France, that I like from Eurovision 2024). I haven't heard Israel's song yet, but I have no problem with that country and I'm sorry you do. But it's natural and normal that we don't always have the same opinion on everything. But C'est la vie.

By now you must be seeing everything about your new job, congratulations once again. Let's both move on, have a great and very productive new week :D

Hey there!

No worries about the timing — I'm always happy to chat about the latest music and charts.

"Illusion" reclaiming the #1 spot is fantastic, especially with the buzz around "Radical Optimism." "These Walls" definitely deserves its high debut; it’s quite a strong track. Dua Lipa's success isn't surprising at all given her album's impressive performance in both the UK and the US charts.

Fabiana Palladino, Sabrina Carpenter, and Dasha are definitely in for a tough competition for the #1 spot. Eurovision songs always have a way of shaking things up, so it will be interesting to see how things unfold next week.

It's great to see "Honey Boy" breaking into the Top Ten and I agree, The Kolors' "Karma" is a really nice track. Among the new entries, I’m glad you like "Toast", "Right Here", and "Pedro". Yeah, this makes it's first debut on my chart after almost making the charts weeks ago.

I understand "Euphoria" not hitting the same notes for you as "Not Like Us", but you'll be happy to learn that in my next chart "Not Like Us" did a higher place on my chart. Hopefully, Eurovision won’t overshadow the chances of "Electric", "Training Season", "Good Luck, Babe!" and "Maria" making it to the Top Ten. Although I do see "Electric" and "Good Luck, Babe!" having chances to get to the top 10, "Training Season" already was in the top 10, in fact it was #1 for a week and "Maria" could make it if I would make it a single, that now goes to "These Walls".

I’m pleased that you like the new peaks for "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and "Rim Tim Tagi Dim". And yes, Eurovision always brings a mix of opinions — I'm glad we can appreciate different songs even if we don’t always agree on every one of them.

Thank you so much for the congratulations on my new job. It’s an exciting time, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead. Here’s to a productive and positive week for both of us!

Best regards,
Sergej
