This week's Song of the Week to check out is: "Alvaro Soler - Te Imaginaba"

German-Spanish singer Alvaro Soler has this week's Song of the Week with “Te Imaginaba” (engl. I Imagined You). The song deals with the journey together with a loved one and conveys a hopeful, euphoric feeling of the right partner. However, “Te Imaginaba” is more than an autobiographical declaration of love. The song is a hopeful anthem for anyone who is on a journey with or to another person.

One rule for my "Song of the Week" choice, it has to be released on release date and it doesn't have to be the highest debut.

Hey Sergej! :)

Glad to see the debuts for 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' & especially 'Strawberry Dream'.

Good chart!

Hey! 😊

Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to see the positive response to 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' and 'Strawberry Dream'. Your support means a lot!

Thank you for your comment and take care!

Hello again, Sergej!

I could notice the fierce fight between "Storie Brevi" and "Honey Boy" in the last weeks, alternating one to the other at #1. Meanwhile "Karma" returns to the Top 3, "Please Please Please" advances for a possible Top 5 and "feelslikeimfallinginlove" is already Top Ten in its 2nd week on the chart.

Purple Disco Machine is on the verge of a new Top Ten with "Heartbreaker" in collaboration with Chromeo. I like the new peaks of "Sesso E Samba" (its sound reminds me of my trip to Rio and Sao Paulo), "The Way I Want It", "Genesis.", "Only Way Is Up", "Under The Sun", "Flashback", "Like Ice In The Sunshine", "Perfect Revenge", "Heat" and especially those of "Tears", "Red Wine Supernova" and "Belong Together".

Among the debuts I like "Glow In The Dark", "Tonight (D.I.Y.A.)", "Nice To Meet You", "Strawberry Dream", "Nature", "Somebody to Someone" and of course "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart".

I like the new section "This Week's Movers & Shakers", although I didn't get the "Longest Running Entry" thing, maybe you mean Song with Most total weeks on the Chart. Fortunately my big favorite "The Door" is the headliner. The "Song of the Week" section is perfect, it's like a spotlight, it's a fantastic idea. Everything reminds me of the great Billboard moments of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I'm struck by the drop of "Good Luck, Babe!" from the chart. I personally don't sympathize with Chapell Roan's lyrical message, but the song is very catchy so I've kept it on Rockmaker. Same goes for "Lunch."

Great playlist/chart and very well documented. I hope you are very well in every way and that you are enjoying the summer. A big hug from afar.

Hello again, Rockmaker!

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and your kind words. It's always fantastic to hear that you’re enjoying the playlist and the charts and I appreciate your enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Indeed, it has been an intense battle between "Storie Brevi" and "Honey Boy" for the #1 spot. The competition is fierce, and it’s thrilling to see "Karma" making its way back into the Top 3. The momentum behind "Please Please Please" and "feelslikeimfallinginlove" is exciting as well—both tracks are definitely making waves!

Purple Disco Machine and Chromeo’s "Heartbreaker" is a stellar track, and it's wonderful to see it on the verge of breaking into the Top Ten. It’s great to know that "Sesso E Samba" brings back memories of your trip to Rio and Sao Paulo—the vibrant, lively sound really captures the essence of those cities and the brazilian culture as a whole. The new peaks for tracks like "The Way I Want It", "Genesis.", "Only Way Is Up", "Under The Sun", and others show the dynamic nature of the chart and how these songs are resonating with listeners.

The debuts you mentioned—"Glow In The Dark", "Tonight (D.I.Y.A.)", "Nice To Meet You", "Strawberry Dream", "Nature", "Somebody to Someone", and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"—are indeed fantastic additions. Each brings something unique to the table, and it’s great to see they have caught your attention.

Regarding the "Longest Running Entry" section, you’re right; it refers to the song that has spent the most total weeks on the chart. I’ll make sure to clarify that in future editions. I'm glad you like the "This Week's Movers & Shakers" and "Song of the Week" sections—they’re meant to highlight the dynamic shifts and spotlight standout tracks, much like the great Billboard moments from past decades.

It's interesting to hear your perspective on "Good Luck, Babe!" and "Lunch." Even if the lyrical content isn't to your personal taste, their catchiness is undeniable. Songs like these often have a way of sticking with us, regardless of the message. And I can say to you, that because of the feedback on Chappell Roan's sudden drop, I think about charting it again next week.

Thank you for your warm wishes—I’m doing well and enjoying the summer (even at work). I hope you are too! Your support and feedback are greatly appreciated. A big hug from afar, and take care.

Ahoy, Sergej!

I love the continued battle of the summer juggernauts at the top. a legacy of the battle for song of the summer is being written and I believe we're possibly seeing 'Storie Bravi' shading it at the present time?

I love the debut for 'Tonight (D.I.Y.A)', as derivative as it is, 'tis the season. 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' gets a better late than never entry, though we're likely to see more official singles from the album, one would think, and this one is a favored choice. 'Strawberry Dream' is another crackling summer pop anthem. Side note: I very nearly charted 'Same Again (For Love)' this week, but alas both of the Dagny tracks not yet but both sound great this time of year. I haven't managed to connect with 'Red Flag' yet.

I'll echo previous comments of all the biggest dropout's possible, I was not expecting to see 'Good Luck, Babe' to take that spot. It seems to keep gaining momentum everywhere at the moment.

Fantastic stuff as always, Sergej!

Ahoy!

I'm thrilled to hear your thoughts on the current chart dynamics! The competition for the song of the summer is indeed intense, and 'Storie Bravi' is making a strong case for itself at the top. It’s fascinating to watch how these tracks battle it out week after week.

'Tonight (D.I.Y.A)' is a perfect addition for the season, even if it does draw on familiar themes—sometimes that’s exactly what we need in a summer anthem! 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' is a great pick too, and I agree, it’s likely we’ll see more singles from the album soon. 'Strawberry Dream' definitely brings that bright, poppy energy that screams summer. We'll see if 'Same Again (For Love)' will be charting for me soon, after the "Strawberry Dream" hype fades for me.

As for 'Red Flag', sometimes it takes a bit for a song to click, so it might just be a matter of time.

'Good Luck, Babe' dropping out was quite unexpected, especially considering its growing popularity. The charts can be unpredictable, and it's always exciting to see what happens next! Although due to the big response of the surprise drop out, it may return in my chart very soon!

Thanks for sharing your insights and for your kind words. Keep enjoying the music and let's see how the chart evolves!

Take care!
