Avril Lavigne makes no hesitations to take the throne with “Tell Me It’s Over”

Ava Max’s “Sweet but Psycho”’s reign at #1 has been cut short, as Avril Lavigne’s new single off her upcoming album Head Above Water, “Tell Me It’s Over” has knocked the singer’s debut entry, and has taken over the #1 spot! It’s Lavigne’s first #1 on the live chart, and isn’t the only song in the top 50. Her previous single of the same title as her upcoming sixth album, “Head Above Water” sits at #14. After seven weeks of charting, it has yet to leave the top 20.

Ariana Grande’s heavenly new track “imagine” jumps “thank u, next” this week and enters the top 5 at #4, pushing her current single out at #6. It is Ariana’s THIRD top 5 entry after “breathin”, which peaked at #2, and “thank u, next” which peaked at #5 last week as of now. Grande is the second artist to have this many songs in the top 10. The first was Sabrina Carpenter who held eight spots after the release of part one of her third studio album, Singular Act I. Sabrina is currently holding four top 10 spots this week, 5-week #1, “Sue Me” (#2), “Almost Love” (#5), “Bad Time” (#7), and “Mona Lisa” (#9). Aside from Grande’s and Carpenter’s top ten tracks, Ariana earns the greatest gainer of the week with “no tears left to cry”, which has climbed fourteen spots from #50, last week's re-entry and hits #36, a new peak for the track.

“1999” by Charli XCX and Troye Sivan has finally entered the top 10, and jumped four spots from last week’s ranking at #8. It’s Charli’s first, and Troye’s second top 10 entry. The first was “Plum”, which jumped five spots this week to #12. Also, newly re-entered “My My My!” has jumped twelve spots to #31, while “Lucky Strike” sits ahead of it, jumping one spot to #28.

Halsey wins her first top 20 entry with her new stand-alone track “Without Me”, which has climbed four spots to #17, a new peak as well.

ZAYN’s sophomore album “Icarus Falls” released last week, and despite the album tracks unable to debut on the chart of the week of December 16th, three new ZAYN tracks debut this week! “Common” lands a top 40 debut at #40, while “Imprint” follows very closely behind at #41, while “Talk To Me” is five spots under it at #46. Aside from his first top 20 entry last week with “No Candle No Light” featuring Nicki Minaj, it’s fallen seven spots to #27 this week.

Magaluna’s debut single “Couldn’t Say It Better” closes the new entries for the week and has debuted at #42 this week!
