KT TUNSTALL continues her reign at No. 1 on ShufflePlay as “Maybe It’s A Good Thing” spends its ninth week on top of the chart. It now ties “Suddenly I See” as her longest running No. 1 to date as that single spent nine weeks on top more than ten years ago.

Since the first chart in 1998, 267 songs have hit No. 1. “Maybe It’s A Good Thing” is the 18th song to spend nine weeks at #1. Should this be its final week on top, it will join TUNSTALL’s own “Suddenly I See” and LADY GAGA’s “Born This Way” as the hits to spend nine weeks at No. 1. If it continues, it will join an even more exclusive club of songs to last double-digit weeks at the top.

Holding at No. 2 for the seventh week is “Million Reasons” by LADY GAGA. Such longevity in the runner-up position is rare. This is the first single to last this long at No. 2 in five years when ADELE tied the record for longest No. 2 peak with “Someone Like You”.

YEARS & YEARS hold onto No. 3 for a third week with “Meteorite” while DRAGONETTE advances upward to No. 4 with “Sweet Poison”. It’s the latest single from their newly released fourth album “Royal Blues”. That album also houses their two previous Top 5 hits “Lonely Heart” (No. 1) and last year’s No. 1 “Let The Night Fall”.

THE CHAINSMOKERS stays put at No. 5 for the third week with “Closer”. With 12 weeks in the Top 10, it matches their previous hit “Don’t Let Me Down” as their longest stay in the Top 10. That song peaked at No. 2 earlier this year. “Closer” still has rising potential and may possible match that?

ADELE scores her ninth Top 10 hit with “Water Under The Bridge”. The fourth single from “25” is also her third Top 10 following “Hello” and “When We Were Young”, both No. 1s. “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” topped out at No. 17.

TEGAN & SARA fall 4-7 with “Stop Desire”, KINGS OF LEON fall backward 6-8 with “Waste A Moment”, PATTY GRIFFIN slips 8-9 with her album track “Shine A Different Way” and English singer/songwriter PASSENGER moves 12-10 with “Anywhere”, his third Top 10 hit following “Let Her Go” (No. 2) and “Holes” (No. 3).
