...Wow, this week was absolutely insane. For one, we have a brand new #1 - yep, that's right, it's "Love Is A Highway" by NURKO and NERIAH jumping off its big debut last week to the very top, making this both artists' first #1. But that's not even close to the only big story of this week, because we also have a brand new #2, and probably a very predictable one: "vampire" by Olivia Rodrigo - her highest debut to date. I would expect this to get higher in the coming weeks, and it doesn't exactly have very far to go. This all means that "Hits Different" by Taylor Swift stood no chance and it falls back to #3, but this takes to our other big Top 5 debut of the week: "Coming Of Age" by Maisie Peters at #4, from her new album The Good Witch. Finally, we have "I know it won't work" by Gracie Abrams at #5, its lowest point yet since its debut - could this be the beginning of the end?
In fact, we have a whole bunch of Maisie Peters debuts this week: "Want You Back" at #7, "BSC" at #11, "Watch" at #18, and "The Band And I" at #24 - and even more in the Bubbling Under. We'll see how long these last for, but for now, I am really enjoying The Good Witch. And we're not even done yet, because we also have "If I Were You" by Rosa Linn debuting at #16. All this of course caused a lot of downward momentum for the rest of the chart, including the biggest fall of all time...eek.
