The Biggest Songs Of The Week

Lana Del Rey beats the Xmas odds and holds onto the no.1 for a 2nd consecutive week and thus gets the Xmas no.1 for 2022 with “Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd”. The Pogues have to settle for no.2 this year and were denied a 3rd consecutive Xmas no.1 in a row with “Fairytale of New York”. Elsewhere, Mariah Carey has not one, but 2 festive tracks in the top 5 and 3 within the top 40. Celine Dion charts above Mariah with their battle of the vocals on “holy night”.

Meanwhile, SZA holds firmly on to the no.1 album chart with “SOS”.

Longest chart runners:

  1. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (29 consecutive weeks)

Next week is another slow week of releases but lookout for possible top 40 single entries from Gabrielle Aplin & Ava Max.

Hi there Zack.
Nice to see the christmas songs doing well and the debuts for "Nothing Is Lost" and "Creepin'.
Great chart!

Hy buddy happy late merry Christmas was in the woods out of cbd . Family gathering.  Lana even in the week xmas you were definitely blasting her myself I had Essentials Christmas pop on repeat even was offline internet and social media. Liking seeing the likes of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and the huge gain of Wham that's a definitely classic hit because of it's lyrics i love that song. Band Aid back in the years loved loved it lately it a slowed down on my playlist .

Brenda lee had a  new peak this year that's one of Essentials for me every year the instrumental Takes me to the years though I wasn't born yet . Nice one to see Birdy version i prefer Sam Smith version rather . Like seeing creepin even in the preesure week of festive songs . This year nice seeing reentries from Leona Lewis i definitely fell in love with the Brits Xmas sound only British will fell in love with the song something special about ,like seeing Kelly CLARKSON, Oh Santa it's one of the underrated xmas songs, and merry Christmas from ed Sheeran definitely that's gonna be a  hit yearly trust me.

Getting into 2023 with  Kate Bush no surprise and we still blasting SOS sza in 2023 i see it's settling for a second year atop interesting to see that

Hey mate, hope you had a lovely xmas too. Yeah, the Lana song was still doing well and just sneaked ahead of the xmas songs. I agree that the Mariah/Ariana/J.Hudson collab sounds great and is likley to rechart for me every year. Im not a big fan of the ed sheeran and elton xmas song, but I agree, you can tell that its going to be a big UK fave every year. SOS back into my playlist right now
