Nathan Evans claims a second week at Number 1 with “Wellerman (Remix)”, while Snelle & Maan towards charge towards the top

Scottish singer Nathan Evans enters a second consecutive week at Number 1 with “Wellerman”, which was remixed by 220 Kid and Billen Ted. Nathan Evans rose to fame while remixing and performing sea shanties on TikTok, thus inspiring the ShantyTok movement which was met with viral success. The Scot cleverly translated the TikTok-craze into a proper song, resulting in “Wellerman (Remix)”. The single has already debuted at Number 3 on the Official UK Chart and is gradually climbing the European charts as well. Nathan Evans fights off “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo and “Blijven Slapen” by Snelle & Maan.

American singer Ava Max enters the Top 10 with her newest single “My Head & My Heart”. The song could sound familiar, as it interpolates the 2000-hit “Around the World” by ATC. The song is Ava Max her fifth Top 10-entry on this list, following big successes such as “Kings & Queens” and “So Am I”. Her biggest song to date is “Sweet but Psycho”, which kickstarted her career and peaked at Number 2 in December 2018. We’ll have to see if “My Head & My Heart” can reach even bigger heights.

This week’s Top 10 sees a number of new peaks, while other songs drop a few places. The prementioned “Blijven Slapen” by Dutch singer Snelle & Maan reach a new peak at Number 3. The disco-infused song is already a big hit on the national charts. It could overtake Nathan Evans’s crown next week, becoming Snelle his first Number 1 and Maan her fourth. Riton & The Nightcrawlers reach a new peak at Number 7 with “Friday” which features Mufasa & Hypeman. The song remixes the Nightcrawlers’ 1995-hit “Push the Feeling On”. The song did not chart on this list, but was a big hit across Europe and the group’s native UK.

Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa & Initial Talk claim the highest debut of the week with “Real Groove (Remix)”. Aussie icon Kylie Minogue is no stranger to success, as from 1995 onwards she scored forty-three Top 40-hits and seven Number 1s. Her most successful release is 2001’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”, which was the fourth best-scoring song of the 2000s. She is joined by Dua Lipa, who has become somewhat of a pop icon herself the last few years. Her 2017-hit “New Rules” became the longest-running Number 1 of all time and last year’s “Physical” was the highest-scoring song of 2020. Aided by a 80s-inspired remix by Initial Talk, Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa claim the highest debut of the week with “Real Groove (Remix)”, entering at Number 13.

This week also sees three other new debuts. Dutch couple Suzan & Freek enter at Number 20 with their newest song “Goud”. The two have scored a string of hits over the last three years, including a Number 1 with “Blauwe Dag” in 2019.  At Number 31, newcomer Kali Uchis makes her first appearance on this list. The American-Colombian singer has already released two studio albums which were met with universal acclaim. Kali Uchis now debuts with the celestial “telepatía”, which has recently gone viral on TikTok. At Number 39, Bruno Mars returns to the Top 40 with “Leave the Door Open” alongside Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic. It is Bruno Mars his first entry since 2019’s “Please Me” with Cardi B.

Swedish singer Zara Larsson released her highly anticipated sophomore album “Poster Girl” this week. This week, I decided to look back at the singer’s incredible chart legacy on this list. Zara Larsson rose to fame with “Lush Life” in 2015, although she was already a recognized star in Sweden after winning Sweden Got Talent in 2008. “Lush Life” became Zara’s first Number 1, which was quickly followed by two more: “Symphony” with Clean Bandit and “Girls Like” with Tinie Tempah. In total, Zara Larsson scored fourteen Top 40-hits, including eight Top 10s. To see a list of her highest-scoring songs on my chart, check out the list below.

Hey Link! :)
I love seeing 'Wellerman' at #1 for a second consecutive week! There's a possibility that it could finally be at the top of the UK Singles Chart tonight.
Just a little correction in the intro though! Nathan Evans' isn't a DJ, he's a singer (previously a postman), with 220KID & Billen Ted as the DJ's. Not really a big deal, but I thought I'd let you know that anyway!
Elsewhere, I really like that 'My Head & My Heart' moves into the Top 10, as well as 'Leave The Door Open' debuting.
Nice chart as usual!
Have a good weekend.

Hey Piran! I'm happy to see you like "Wellerman" at Number 1. Thanks for the correction, I've changed the chart intro. Thank you hahaha. "My Head & My Heart" could remain stable and "Leave The Door Open" will jump up! Thank you so much for the comment :) Have a great weekend ahead!

I'm impressed Wellerman spending another wweek.Like the new peaks for Streets,My head and heart interesting she's had pretty success on your top 10.like the new peaks too for Up,Pressure, Bed.
I'm impressed that Zara ZARA LARSSON has done well in history. You keep all stats of your music

Hey Brandy! Thank you so much for the comment. "Wellerman" is still going strong! Happy to see you like the new peaks for "Streets"and "My Head and My Heart". Zara Larsson has done really well on my list! I do keep an Excel-doc with all my stats, took a bit of work, but it's worth it :) Have a great weekend ahead!

Hey Link! It is a great achievement that "Wellerman" is still at #1. I have to say that I am slowly but surely starting to like the song less. I'm curious how long Nathan Evans will last. I absolutely love that "Real Groove" debuts this week thanks to the Initial Talk remix. At the time I played the remix of "New Rules" over and over. Great chart as always!

Hey Link! I understand you're growing to dislike "Wellerman". It might not be Number 1 on my next chart. I adore Initial Talk, he's such a great remixer. I loved his "New Rules" and "Love Made Me Do It" remixes. Such a talented producer. Thank you so much for the comment :) Have a great weekend ahead!

Hey Link! I love to see 'Wellerman' and 'drivers license' still in the Top 2 along with Ava in the Top 10! I'm also enjoying the climb for 'BED' and the debut of 'Leave the Door Open' (hoping that climbs higher!). Great chart as always and have a great week! :)

Hey Rector! "Wellerman" and "drivers license" are still going strong! "BED" is really growing on me, it might reach the Top 10 next week! "Leave the Door Open" is growing on me, it reminds me of a 70s classic. The style really suits Bruno. Thank you so much for the comment :) Have a great weekend ahead!
