Dutch singers Snelle and Maan rise to Number 1 with the disco-infused “Blijven Slapen”. The song is aided by the release of Snelle his fourth studio album Lars. The single is Snelle his first Number 1-hit on this list. Snelle is not alone in his success, as he is aided by Maan. She rose to fame after she won the sixth season of The Voice of Holland and since then, she scored three Number 1s. Her hit “Hij Is Van Mij” was the biggest-scoring song of 2019. “Blijven Slapen” is Maan her fourth chart-topper on this list. Snelle and Maan dethrone Nathan Evans with “Wellerman (Remix), which spent two consecutive weeks atop the list.
Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa jump into the Top 10 with “Real Groove” remixed by Initial Talk. The song is Kylie her twenty-sixth Top 10-entry on this list. Some of her biggest hits include “Red Blooded Woman”, “Spinning Around” and the multi-platinum “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”. For Dua Lipa, “Real Groove” is her twenty-second Top 10-song. As of this date, all of Dua Lipa her entries have peaked inside the Top 10. This week, Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa their newest hit peaks at Number 9.
British producer Joel Corry scores his second Top 10-hit with “Bed” featuring RAYE and David Guetta. Joel Corry is fresh off the success of “Head & Heart”, which was his breakthrough song and peaked at Number 1 for five non-consecutive weeks. RAYE has also scored a string of hits, her collaboration with Jax Jones “You Don’t Know Me” peaked at Number 5. French producer David Guetta aids Joel Corry on “Bed”, thus earning Guetta his fifteenth Top 10-hit on this chart. Joel Corry, RAYE and David Guetta peak at Number 10 this week.
The highest new entry of the week is claimed by Dutch singer Froukje. The new talent broke through with her debut single “Groter Dan Ik”, a song about the current climate crisis. The protest song got her a record deal at TopNotch, the Netherlands’ biggest label, and spawned the debut extended play Licht en Donker. Froukje already scored a Top 20-hit on this list with “Onbezonnen” and has done really well on my streaming services. This week, Froukje her newest single “Heb Ik Dat Gezegd?” debuts at Number 21. The song is her highest opening to date.
This week its Top 40 sees three other new entries. At Number 26, Dutch hit-singer Marco Borsato makes his return with “Een Moment” featuring Rolf Sanchez. The song is a love letter to his ex-wife, following the highly publicized divorce scandal. The new song is Marco Borsato his first entry since the 2019-hit “Lippenstift” featuring Snelle. At Number 35, Justin Bieber enters with “Hold On”. The song precedes his upcoming newest studio album. He previously claimed chart-success with “Holy” and “Monster”. At Number 40, we have a Dutch-Belgian song with “1 Op Een Miljoen” by Metejoor and Babet. Both artists are new to this chart.
On March 17th, we celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s biggest holiday. In my twenty-six years of chart history, nine Irish acts have peaked at Number 1. The act with the most Number 1s is a tie between One Direction and Girls Aloud, as both acts have claimed the crown eight times. Girls Aloud have spent the most weeks at Number 1, with thirty-three weeks spent atop the list. The artist with the most Number 1s in total, either solo or as a group member, is Niall Horan. In 2017, his solo hit “Slow Hands” reached Number 1 and as a part of One Direction he scored an additional eight, resulting in nine Number 1s total. To see a full list of all the Irish Number 1-songs, see the list below the chart.

Hey Link! I'm really happy with your new number #1! "Blijven Slapen" grows on me and this song could reach #1 in my list too. I also like the debut for "Heb Ik Dat Gezegd?", Froukje is such an amazing and talented artist! I have already shared my doubts about the new Borsato-song with you. I'm curious about your opinion. Have a nice week!
