We are now halfway through the year, so it is time for the countdown. Here are my Top 100 songs of the year so far! How I calculate the countdown: each week, a song gets a certain number of points [#1 gets 50 points, #5 gets 45 points, #50 gets 1 point etc.]. This is added up to give the song a number of 'chart points'. The more chart points, the higher the song is on the list! And to make it a more even playing fiend, songs released later in the year can get bonus points. For example, If a song debuted in February and spent 2+ weeks insde the top 40, it would get 25 extra points, March would get 50 extra points and so on!
Tate McRae easily takes the #1 song of the year so far with 'she's all i wanna be'. The song is still currently inside my Top 10 and has broken several records, including spending 20 consecutive weeks in the Top 10! Taylor Swift holds positions #2 and #3 with All Too Well and Red respectively. All Too Well spent 6 weeks at #1 in 2021, more weeks than any other song on the chart. Red (Taylor's Version) gave Taylor a 2nd #1 in January, and since then she has claimed a further 2 #1s! She is officially the Biggest artist in my charts history! Avril Lavigne clocks in at #4 with 'Love Sux', the 2nd #1 from the album of the same name! The album's lead single 'Bite Me' is also at #7! Camila Cabello's Ed Sheeran assisted 'Bam Bam', which spent 3 weeks at #1 across March & April is at #5 while Sam Ryder's UK Eurovision Entry SPACE MAN is at #6. GAYLE's 'ur just horny' is at #8, Jax Jones & MNEK are at #9 and David Guetta's collaboration with Becky Hill & Ella Henderson is at #10!
