Chart

Ahead of the release of her debut album Sour, Olivia Rodrigo scores her second Number 1 as “Good 4 U” enters atop the chart

American singer Olivia Rodrigo scores her second Number 1 as “Good 4 U” debuts at Number 1, aided by big streaming numbers and playlisting. The song is her second chart-topper, following the incredible success of the double-platinum “drivers license”, which spent six consecutive week atop the list. The new single precedes the release of Olivia Rodrigo her highly anticipated debut album Sour. “Good 4 U” is the first song to debut at Number 1, since Dua Lipa and DaBaby’s “Levitating” entered atop the chart in October last year. The song dethrones SZA and Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More”, which spent three weeks atop the chart.

This week its Top 10 has no new entries – Snelle and Maan rebound to Number 2 with their disco-dance hit “Blijven Slapen”, which peak atop the chart for six consecutive weeks. At Number 5, The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears” remains comfortably, still profiting off the remix featuring Ariana Grande. The pre-mentioned Olivia Rodrigo reaches a new peak at Number 6 with “déjà vu”, aided by the success of her newest Number 1. German disco-band Boney M. nearly peaks inside the Top 10 with “Rasputin”, which was remixed by Majestic, but falls short at Number 11.

Aside from Olivia Rodrigo’s top debut, Ronnie Flex and Emma Heesters claim an incredible debut. The two enter with their newest song “Alles Wat Ik Mis”, which is produced by Kris Kross Amsterdam, who scored a Number 1 with “Hij Is Van Mij” and had international hits with “Sex” and “Whenever”. Ronnie Flex and Emma Heesters are no strangers to success themselves; Ronnie Flex is the Dutch artist with the most Number 1s – seven in total – and Emma Heesters scored a double-platinum chart-topper with “Pa Olvidarte” in 2019. Together, they debut at Number 20, aided by streaming numbers and playlisting.

Two other songs made their debut this week. Fred Again.. and The Blessed Madonna combine forces on their newest single “We’ve Lost Dancing”, which enters at Number 31. The Blessed Madonna is best known for her contributions to Dua Lipa’s “Club Future Nostalgia”. At Number 39, we meet Amsterdam -born rapper Antoon who debuts with his single “Hyperventilatie”. The song has become a streaming hit on Spotify the past week and has experienced viral success on TikTok.

It has been twenty years since Geri Halliwell’s cover of the Weather Girls’ “It’s Raining Men” debuted at Number 1 on this chart. The song went on to spend seven consecutive weeks atop the list and became the second best-scoring single of 2001. Since then, Ginger Spice’s “It’s Raining Men” became the best-scoring single by a solo Spice Girl, having scored over 120,000 points. The second best-scoring single by an ex-Spice Girl is Victoria Beckham her debut single “Out of Your Mind”, which also became a Number 1 in 2000. The third highest-scoring single is claimed by Sporty Spice with “Never Be the Same Again”, which was Mel C’s second out of three Number 1s.
