Chart

Following the release of her debut album Sour, Olivia Rodrigo dominates the Top 10 and rules at Number 1 with “good 4 u”

Olivia Rodrigo absolute dominates the list following the release of her debut album Sour. The album’s third single “good 4 u” scores a second consecutive week atop the chart and the album’s second single “déjà vu” reaches a new peak at Number 3. Even the album’s lead single and Olivia’s big breakthrough Number 1-hit “drivers license” manages to re-enter the Top 10, following the album’s success. Olivia Rodrigo manages to become the most-streamed artist of the week and claims the most-streamed song of the week. She fights off success from Doja Cat and SZA, although the competition is minor.

Ronnie Flex and Emma Heesters enter the Top 10 with their collaboration “Alles Wat Ik Mis”, peaking at Number 9 this week. The song is rapper Ronnie Flex’s twenty-second Top 10-entry, again extending his record as the Dutch artist with the most Top 10-entries on my chart. Ronnie Flex is not alone, as he is aided by YouTuber-and-singer Emma Heesters, whom previously scored big hits such as “Waar Ga Je Heen” and a Number 1 with “Pa Olvidarte”.

Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix score the highest debut of the week with “Heartbreak Anthem”. Out of the three acts, Little Mix have had the most success on my chart. The girl group has scored ten Number 1s, which include the multi-platinum “Shout Out to My Ex” and “Black Magic”. David Guetta scored a Number 1 with “When Love Takes Over” and he recently placed inside the Top 5 with “BED”. Swedish music duo Galantis have scored a Top 10-hit with “Runaway” back in 2015, but their success was limited. This week, Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix join forces, debuting at Number 15.

Four other songs make their debut this week. At Number 25, the winners of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Måneskin enter with their winning song “ZITTI E BUONI”. The group Måneskin represented Italy and marked the third time the country won the contest. At Number 34, Anne-Marie and Niall Horan debut with “Our Song” – their highly anticipated collaboration. Both artists have scored big hits, such as “Rockabye” and “Slow Hands”. At Number 36, Dutch singer and Eurovision’s interval act Davina Michelle debuts with “Sweet Water”. Her performance at Eurovision was met with universal acclaim. At Number 40, Eurovision’s runner-up Barbara Pravi debuts with “Voilà”. She represented France and lost the contest by only 25 points.

In honour of the recent Eurovision Song Contest hosted by the Netherlands, I have decided to take a look at the highest-charting Eurovision Songs in my chart’s history since 1995. The television show has spawned two Number 1s on this chart: the United Kingdom’s 1996-entry “Ooh Aah...Just a Little Bit” by Australian singer Gina G., and, the Netherlands’ 2013-entry “Birds” by hit-singer Anouk. Both songs topped charts after their Eurovision performance, although they did not win the contest. The highest-scoring winning Eurovision song is Germany’s 2010-entry “Satellite” by Lena, which peaked at Number 9 after winning the contest. Other notable entries include Alexander Rybak’s “Fairytale” and runner-up “Calm After the Storm” by the Common Linnets. For the Top 10 highest-peaking Eurovision entries, see the list below this chart.
