Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding enjoy another week at Number 1 as “Miracle” extends its miraculous streak to four non-consecutive weeks. The synth-pop smash is supported by stable streaming figures and playlisting. Its reign is starting to weaken though, as Goldband moves back in closer with their previous Number 1-song “Rommel”. The Dutch pop hit previously spent four consecutive weeks atop the chart. “Miracle” and “Rommel” now both rank as one of the most-successful songs of the year so far – only Miley Cyrus her “Flowers” clocked in more weeks at Number 1 so far with a total five weeks.
Aussie pop icon Kylie Minogue blasts into the Top 3 with her infectious new single “Padam, Padam”. It is the first release from her upcoming sixteenth studio album Tension, set to be released later this year. Supported by monstrous streaming numbers, “Padam, Padam” sees Kylie Minogue earning her first solo Top 3-entry in over a decade. Her last solo Top 3-hit was the chart-topping “Get Outta My Way” from 2010, although she did score another big Top 3-smash two years ago with “Real Groove” featuring Dua Lipa. “Padam, Padam” is Minogue at her absolute best, fully embracing her camp and electro-pop roots, similar to the previous Light Years and Fever. As the Pop Princess debuts at #3 – the highest new entry of the week – Kylie collects her forty-third Top 40-entry on my personal chart and her twenty-sixth Top 10-hit. German DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine, or Tino Piontek, has been a major player in the house and disco scene for a while now. He headlined festivals across the globe, remixed big hits for multiple artists and won a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for his remix of Lizzo's "About Damn Time". This week, he finally earns an important milestone on my personal chart, as his “Substitution” flies to #9, earning him his first Top 10-hit. He previously enjoyed success with “In The Dark” and “Hypnotized”, but the Italo-inspired “Substitution” marks a new career high for the German talent. He is supported by Kungs, the French producer best known for 2016’s “This Girl”.
Inside the Top 20, London-based DJ and producer Fred Again.. eyes a possible third Top 10-entry with “Turn On The Lights Again..” – ultimately stalling at #11 on this week’s chart. Sweden’s representative and Eurovision winner Loreen moves up to #13 with her winning song “Tattoo”, while Post Malone and his “Chemical” continue to steadily scale the Top 20 to #16. Following her concert tour, Dutch indie-pop talent Froukje moves into the Top 20 with her latest single “Naar Het Licht”. Latin divas Karol G and Shakira return to the Top 20 once more with “TQG”, earning the Reggaeton smash hit an eleventh week inside my personal Top 20.
Puerto Rican singer and heartthrob Bad Bunny debuts at #20 with his newest “Where She Goes”, earning him his fifth Top 40-entry so far. He last appeared on my chart in 2021 with the amazing “La Noche de Anoche”. Dutch duo Suzan & Freek enter at #29 with their “Nooit Meer Regen”, which could possibly precede a third studio album. Lana Del Rey debuts at #33 with her viral new song “Say Yes To Heaven” which has been very popular on TikTok this past few weeks. It also was a streaming success upon its initial release, debuting in the Top 5 most-streamed songs in the United Kingdom. Further down at #39, Oliver Heldens his “10 Out of 10” re-enters, following the release of Kylie Minogue’s “Padam, Padam”.
