Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding switch positions with Goldband + Eurovision impacts the chart

After three tenuous weeks, Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding finally reclaim the Number 1-position with their trance anthem “Miracle”. It originally spent two consecutive weeks atop the list, but was bumped off the top by Metejoor and Hannah Mae their Dutch collaboration. They were then kept from returning to Number 1 by Dutch group Goldband, who led the charts for four consecutive weeks with “Rommel”. Harris & Goulding now soar back to the top, boosted by increased streaming figures. “Miracle” becomes Goulding her longest-running Number 1-single to date, surpassing “Love Me Like You Do” its two-week stint atop the chart.

Cameroonian-American young artist Libianca moves up three places into the Top 10 with her worldwide smash hit “People”, finishing at #8 this week. The singer first gained recognition after she competed in the twenty-first season of American TV show The Voice in 2021. She then went on to climb the charts across the globe with “People” earlier this year. “People” has since then received a remix with new Irish talent Cian Ducrot, who previously peaked inside my personal Top 10 with “I’ll Be Waiting”. Supported by big streaming figures, Libianca steadily secures her first Top 10-hit.

One of the 2010s biggest-scoring acts was - undoubtedly - Rita Ora. Between 2012 and 2019, she scored nine Top 10-hits, including a smash Number 1 with “I Will Never Let You Down”. Her impressive run, however, fizzled out around the turn of the decade, with Ora shifting her focus from singing to television. This week, Rita Ora finally properly returns with “Praising You”; a reworking of Fatboy Slim his iconic 1999-hit “Praise You”. Supported by a live performance at the Eurovision Semi-Final, “Praising You” peaks at #9 this week, earning Rita Ora her first Top 10-entry since 2019’s “Ritual” with Tiësto. It marks her landmark tenth Top 10-hit overall.

Following the Eurovision finale this week, Sweden’s Loreen re-enters my chart at #17 with the winning song “Tattoo”. The song won the contest with 583 points, beating Finland and Israel. The single marks Loreen her third entry on my personal list, following her 2012 Eurovision-winning hit “Euphoria”. That single peaked at #20 following the competition. Loreen her “Tattoo” is also climbing the global charts, possibly hinting at a revival of Loreen her international career.

Three Dutch songs debut on my personal list this week. Indie-pop darling Froukje earns the highest new entry of the week with “Naar Het Licht”, entering at #22. It is the follow-up to “Als Ik God Was”, which peaked at #2 on my personal list and became her highest-peaking song to date. Further down, Zoë Tauran teams up with Bilal Wahib again on “Outside”. They previously collaborated together on Tauran her breakout hit “Solo” last year. That single peaked at #32, and coincidentally, so does the new “Outside”. Rappers Bizzey, Kraantje Pappie and Rolf Sanchez debut at #39 with the summer-sounding “Zin In De Zomer Man”, which its music video quickly went viral.
