In a very close race for Number 1 this week, Harry Styles steals back the Number 1-spot from Antoon’s “Hallo”, earning “As It Was” a fourth non-consecutive week reigning the list. The song secures a month-long run at the top of my personal chart, where it is again my personal most-streamed song. The single is supported by strong playlisting and the anticipation for the release of Styles his upcoming third solo album Harry’s House. The ex-One Direction star does face strong competition though. Antoon slips to #2 with “Hallo”, while George Ezra climbs to a new peak at #3 with “Anyone For You”. Only a twenty streams separate the Top 3 this week.
Meanwhile, after weeks of falling just short, Tyga and Doja Cat finally jump into the Top 10 at #8 with their insanely catchy “Freaky Deaky”. The single marks the second collaboration between the rappers since 2019’s "Juicy" [#26]. Its initial success has been only minor so far, but the collaboration has been climbing the international charts steadily, so far peaking inside the Top 40 in the UK, Australia and Global 200. On this chart, “Freaky Deaky” becomes Tyga his first ever Top 10-hit, while it marks Doja Cat her ninth.
Dutch independent-singers Froukje and S10 move up to #10 with their acclaimed collaboration “Zonder Gezicht”. The song is taken from Froukje her second EP Uitzinnig, which was released to overwhelming critical acclaim and national chart success. Froukje is joined by S10, who was chosen to represent The Netherlands at Eurovision this year with “De Diepte”. Their new collab “Zonder Gezicht” becomes Froukje her second Top 10-hit and S10 her first. Froukje previously peaked at #10 with "Ik Wil Dansen" and stalled at #11 with “Onbezonnen” and at #12 with “Heb Ik Dat Gezicht?”, falling just short of a Top 10-entry.
The top debut of the week is scored by Dutch singer songwriter Flemming with “Automatisch”. 2021 was a big year for the Brabant-born singer; he produced the Sick Individuals’ Top 40-hit “Miss You” and then reached Number 2 with his own single “Amsterdam”. Such a big hit is a tough act to follow, but Flemming managed to make waves again with “Zij Wil Mij” [#11]. Flemming now aims for another big summer hit with “Automatisch”, which is supported by a video clip shot at Walabi, The Netherlands. He is off to a very strong start, “Automatisch” debuts at #16, his highest opening week so far.
At #24, American artist Lizzo re-enters the list with her new hit “About Damn Time”. The disco-infused song previously debuted and peaked at #37 and then dropped out off the list entirely, but this week, Miss Lizzo returns stronger than ever. At #30, American singer Ava Max debuts with her new single “Maybe You’re the Problem”. The sassy break up anthem is Max’s lead single of her upcoming second album. The song was preceded by the worldwide hits “Sweet but Psycho” [#2] and “Kings & Queens” [#5]. Finally, Dutch singer Sigourney K. debuts at #37 with “100 SMS’je”; the follow-up to her Number 1-duet “Vluchtstrook” with Antoon. The single interpolates The Underground Project’s 2003-hit “Summer Jam”.
