Marco Borsato and Trijntje Oosterhuis remain unstoppable at Number 1 for a fifth week; Spice Girls celebrate 2 x Platinum

Marco Borsato and Trijntje Oosterhuis enter a fifth week at Number 1 with the heartfelt Wereld Zonder Jou. The duet is on its way to become the biggest Dutch hit of the year, outscoring the likes of Guus Meeuwis & Vagant. The song is Marco Borsato his longest-running chart-topper to date, surpassing his previous Ik Leef Niet Meer Voor Jou which spent four weeks above the list. Marco Borsato and Trijntje Oosterhuis face strong competition from the Backstreet Boys, whom peak at Number 2 with Everybody (Backstreet's Back). This is the boys’ third single to peak at Number 2 without reaching the top spot.

Coolio scores his third Top 10-entry with C U When U Get There. The American rapper scored his first Top 10-hit in October 1995 with Gangsta's Paradise. The single later peaked at Number 1 for two consecutive weeks and received a Platinum Certification with over 70,000 points. His success continued with other small successes, including the Gold-certified Top 10-entry It's All The Way Live (Now) and the Top 20-hit 1,2,3,4 (Sumpin' New). Coolio continues his streak of hits with C U When U Get There taken from the film “Nothing to Lose”. Coolio peaks at Number 10 this week.

No Mercy score the highest debut of the week. The American-German boy group has already scored big hits on this list before. The boys debuted with Where Do You Go in November 1996. The song went on the peak at Number 2 and became the boys’ big breakthrough. More success followed with the big Number 1-hit When I Die earlier this year. The hit spent two weeks above the list and garnered a Platinum Certification with over 73,000 points. The boys return with their newest double-sided single Kiss You All Over / Bonita (Remix), of which the first is this week’s highest debut at Number 17.

Sometimes, siblings can have success in the music industry together. Some famous examples are the Jackson 5, a popular boy group consisting of brothers. The latest addition to this trend are the sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue. Kylie Minogue is already a highly respected songstress with multiple hits signed to her name, including The Loco-Motion and I Should Be So Lucky. On this list, the Australian hitmaker scored two Top 10-hits with Where the Wild Roses Grow and Better the Devil You Know since charting begin in 1995. Kylie her sibling Dannii Minogue tries to breakthrough as a singer as well, launching her career with the catchy All I Wanna Do. The song is already a big hit in the United Kingdom and in Australia. On this list,  Dannii Minogue enters at Number 32.

The Spice Girls celebrate another huge milestone as their massive hit Who Do You Think You Are celebrates a 2 x Platinum-certification with over 120,000 points. The hit is one of the girls’ five Number 1-entries and spent seven weeks above the list. The single is currently the best-scoring single of 1997. The Spice Girls previously received a 2 x Platinum-certification for their record-breaking single Wannabe which went on to receive an ultimate 5 x Platinum-certification.
