Will Smith secures second week at Number 1

Will Smith celebrates a second week at Number 1 with Men In Black. The song is becoming one of the biggest hits of the year, fending off strong competition from T-Spoon and the Verve. The single is a hit across the world as well, securing the top spot in countries such as America and Australia. Aided by the film of the same name, Will Smith is not leaving the top any time soon.

The Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy and Ma$e enter the Top 10 with No Money, No Problems. The late Notorious B.I.G. has not entered the Top 10 before, although his tribute song by Puff Daddy I’ll Be Missing You has. This subsequently makes this new song Puff Daddy his second entrance within the Top 10. I’ll Be Missing You spent one week above the list and is currently aiming for a Platinum status. The newest collaboration peaks at Number 9 this week.

Barbra Streisand and Céline Dion score the highest debut of the week. Barbra Streisand has left a lasting impact in the music industry after launching her career with hits such as People and Stoney Eyed. She scored multiple Number 1-hits on the Billboard 100 in the 70s including The Way We Were and Evergreen. The hitmaker holds a Goddess-like status and is regarded as one of the most influential women in music.  Barbra Streisand is aided by Céline Dion, who is a legend in her own regard. On this list, the French-Canadian singer scored four record-breaking Number 1s with Think Twice, Because You Loved Me, It’s All Coming Back to Me Now and All By Myself. She sold millions of record worldwide and is regarded as one of the 90s biggest stars. Barbra Streisand and Céline Dion enter with another hit together, debuting at Number 14 this week.

Daft Punk celebrate a Platinum Certification for their debut single Around the World. The single hit Number 3 earlier this year and is one of this year’s biggest successes. The song currently holds over 65,000 points to its name. Sash! earns a Gold Certification for his dance-hit Ecuador. The song peaked at Number 3 and still sits within the Top 10. The song has scored 40,000 points so far.
