The Red 50

Second week in a row for the Red 50 "Chart Notes"! Hey, maybe this will wind up being a weekly thing. (Famous last words.)

- "Gloria" holds on for a third week at the top, but both Ghost and Highly Suspect are ready to take the throne any week now. For a song that I thought was going to spend at least a month at the top, "Gloria" sure isn't going to last too much longer at the top...
- The biggest casualty of the Ghost/Highly Suspect duo may not be "Gloria", as "Hardwired", a surefire #1 contender in the past, drops down below the top three. While it could hang around the top 5 for a while, its chances of reaching the summit are officially at 0%.
- Meanwhile, The Kills will not relive their glory days, as "Heart of a Dog" falls down to #5 and looks to be on the way out...
- Two new top ten entries this week, as Chevelle looks to follow Red 50 #1 "Joyride" with "Door to Door Cannibals", while Volbeat sneaks in yet another Red 50 top 10 track with "Seal the Deal".
- The biggest mover of the week was not as much of a surprise as last week, as The Dillinger Escape Plan move up twelve spots to #22. Avenged Sevenfold, meanwhile, makes a nice move up the chart (nine spots to #31), and K.Flay could prove to be a #1 contender in the weeks to come, if this week's eight spot jump is any indication.
- This week marks the sixth consecutive week with three new entries, and two are by the same artist! AFI is back with two new impacting singles, "Snow Cats" and "White Offerings", and "Snow Cats" is having the better start, debuting just outside of the top 40.
- The three songs leaving the chart this week are nothing to really write home about, though I suppose it has to be said that The Struts' "Put Your Money On Me" flamed out pretty quickly in comparison to both "Kiss This" and "Could Have Been Me".
