Olivia Rodrigo claims a sixth consecutive week at Number 1 with “drivers license”. Within the first month of its release, "drivers license" broke Spotify its record twice for most daily streams ever for a non-holiday song, culminating in over 400 million streams. On this list, however, Olivia Rodrigo her effortless reign begins to weaken as competition nears closer. This week, American singer SZA is Rodrigo’s biggest rival with “Good Days”. SZA has been eyeing the Number 1-position for a couple of weeks now, but has not been able to claim it yet. If she were to overtake Rodrigo next week, “Good Days” would become SZA her first ever Number 1. Other competition comes from Dua Lipa’s “We’re Good”, taken from the extended edition of Future Nostalgia. The new song peaks at Number 3 this week, becoming Dua Lipa’s fourteenth consecutive song to peak within the Top 3 or higher. If Dua Lipa were to overtake Rodrigo next week, it would become her ninth Number 1-hit on this chart.
English DJ Riton soars to new heights with his single “Friday” featuring the Nightcrawlers and influencers Mufasa & Hypeman. The song “Friday” might sound familiar, as it remixes the Nightcrawlers’ 1995-hit “Push the Feeling On”. The song did not chart on this list, but was a big hit across Europe and the group’s native UK. Influencers Mufasa & Hypeman helped the song regain attention by using it in their videos on TikTok, which attracted a strong viral following. English DJ Riton now combines the Nightcrawlers’ original and Mufasa & Hypeman’s remixes to create “Friday”, an anthemic club-banger. The song peaks at Number 10, earning all acts their first Top 10-hit.
Australian rappers and other acts have been doing well on the internationals charts lately (see The Kid LAROI or Tones and I). Newcomer Masked Wolf seems to be the latest inclusion to this list, as his 2019-song “Astronaut in the Ocean” is this week’s highest debut. The song was originally released almost three years ago, but has recently gained new international success following a re-release at a new record label. Masked Wolf has been making music for quite some time, but “Astronaut in the Ocean” is his big international break. The single enters at Number 25 this week, earning the highest new entry of the week.
Three other songs enters the Top 40 this week. Acclaimed girl band HAIM enter the list with “Gasoline” featuring hit-singer Taylor Swift. The two acts previously charted together with their minor hit “No Body, No Crime”. The new song enters at Number 30. Dutch DJ Martin Garrix enters the Top 40 with “Pressure” featuring the Swedish Tove Lo. It has been some time since both acts appeared on this list, with Martin Garrix and Tove Lo’s last entries dating back to 2019 and 2016 respectively. “Pressure” enters at Number 34. Finally, newcomer and TikTok-artist Sara Kays enters at Number 39 with her debut single “Remember That Night?”. The song attracted viral success on TikTok, which quickly culminated in success on Spotify.
This week, the music industry was shocked to find that French music duo Daft Punk has split up after twenty-eight years. The two Frenchmen (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) were considered to be one of the most influential dance producers of all time, known for their catchy hits, genre-fusing and popularizing the French House movement in the late 90s. Their fourth album “Random Access Memories” was met with universal acclaim and won a Grammy for Album of The Year and scored worldwide hits that spanned multiple decades. On this list, Daft Punk never reached Number 1 sadly, although they did come close multiple times. Their best-scoring single is “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell Williams, which peaked at Number 2 in 2013 and scored over 80,000 points. To see Daft Punk their Top 5 highest-scoring songs of all time, see the list below this chart.

Hey Davyl! Thank you so much for the comment. Olivia Rodrigo is still going strong, although “Wellerman” could possibly overtake her next week. A seventh week would be cool though. Froukje could be looking at a Top 10-entry next week, if she’s not pushed out by a Top 10-debut by the new Maan & Snelle-song. Have a great week ahead :)

Hey Link! :)
Six weeks at #1 for 'Drivers License'! It doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon, so that's awesome, haha.
I also like seeing 'Streets' climbing further into the Top 10, as well as 'Friday [Dopamine Re-Edit]' finally entering the region!
The debuts for 'Astronaut In The Ocean' & 'Gasoline' are both amazing too.
Have a nice week!

Hey Piran! Thank you so much for the comment. Olivia Rodrigo could actually lose her Number 1-position next week, as “Wellerman” and “We’re Good” are scoring better on Spotify. It will be a tough race. “Streets” is a stable hit for me and “Friday” could rise a few places on the next chart. I also really like the new debuts, especially “Gasoline”. Have a great week ahead :)

Hello Link100100!! I like to see a 6th week for drivers licence at #1 but what i love the most about this chart is that friday has climbed into the top 10 for the first time! what a tune! Also love to see the debut for astronaut in the ocean at #25. New peaks for streets, big, my head & my heart are all awesome too. Have a good week...

Hey George! Thank you so much for the comment. “drivers license” is still going strong. “Friday” is such a banger and it is currently looking at another peak next week. “Big” could gain again next week, while “My Head & My Heart” will remain stable around the Top 20. Have a great week ahead :)

Hey Link! What a great chart you have here, especially the Top 5 - I love that 'drivers license' gets a sixth week at the top with 'Good Days' and 'We're Good' in the Top 3! It's also great to see the new peaks of 'Friday' and 'My Head & My Heart' - I'm hoping the latter can reach the Top 10 soon. Have a great week ahead! :)

Hey Link! I really like that Olivia Rodrigo claims a sixth week at number 1 with "Drivers License". I honestly didn't expect her to make it given the fierce competition. Maybe she can hold on for another week? :-) Having said that, I'm glad Froukje has the top 10 in sight! She is such an amazing young talent :-) Have a great week!
