Calvin Harris’s “Potion” charges to Number 1, while Beyoncé scores a glorious Top 3-comeback

As the temperatures rise and the summer feeling returns, the most summer-sounding single on this list rises to a new peak as well. Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa & Young Thug rise to #2 with the smooth “Potion”, only barely held off the top by Lizzo. Calvin Harris previously scored a big summer hit in 2018 with “One Kiss”, which also featured Dua Lipa. Lizzo maintains her lead at Number 1 for a third consecutive week, although her reign is starting to weaken. “About Damn Time” is supported by stable playlisting and streaming figures. If “Potion” were to overtake the top next week, it would become Calvin Harris’s seventh Number 1, Dua Lipa’s tenth and Young Thug’s second.

Meanwhile, Queen B gloriously returns to the charts with “Break My Soul”, Beyoncé first single from a solo studio album in six years. The new house-dance single debuts at #3 this week. It marks Beyoncé her thirty-third Top 10-hit and her first since the 2020 “Savage (Remix)” with Megan Thee Stallion [#8]. It has been released to critical acclaim, with many critics praising her the feel-good energy. Beyoncé is contending a possible Number 1-spot on this chart, following Lizzo and Calvin Harris closely. If Bey were to take Number 1 next, it would mark her seventh chart-topper on this chart.

Meanwhile, English young talent Declan McKenna enters the Top 10 with “Brazil”. The song was first released in 2014 (!) as a protest song against FIFA for awarding the World Cup to Brazil in 2014 while the nation suffered from deep poverty. Ever since, “Brazil” has been an indie-hit that kickstarted Declan his career. This year, the seven-year-old song went viral on TikTok and entered the UK Singles Chart, much to my delight. With its newfound success, the song soars into my personal Top 10, peaking at #10 this week. It marks Declan his first ever Top 10-hit on my chart.

Further down, Doja Cat debuts at #19 with her new single “Vegas”, taken from the soundtrack off the new Elvis Presley movie. The song samples Big Mama Thornton's 1952 song "Hound Dog" which was famously covered by Presley himself. Like many Doja Cat hits, the song quickly found viral success on TikTok. The song is also quickly travelling up the official charts worldwide. On my list, “Vegas” marks Doja Cat her sixteenth Top 40-hit.

Hi Link!
Nice to see "About Damn Time" still at the top, "Afraid To Feel" reaching the top 5, "Brazil" in the top 10 and the debuts for "Vegas" and "Glimpse Of Us".
Great chart!

Hi Link! Not sure if I replied to your chart in last couple of weeks, I have been so busy!

Great top three! Unfortunately they have not competed against strong runners in my chart. I do hope Beyonce brings back something a little better than "BREAK MY SOUL"

Glad that Harry and Tate McRae are maintaining and stocking up more weeks in the chart.

So happy to see Joji here as well!

Great chart!
